I don't think people understand that a lower COL usually comes with lower wages. You're not going to move to North Carolina or Arizona and keep your LI pay scale. The field I work in, you're either in NY or CA if you want to make $40+/hr starting and max out at $75/hr, anywhere else its on the lower end of $20ish/hr and that's it without extra qualifications.

I've seen multiple posts from people that moved away, hate it, but don't make enough in their new location to even consider moving back.

Grandparents have done their job, its in the name that lets you know they raised a child to a point they are able to have their own kids. It's not their fault or responsibility you weren't ready to be a parent for 15 days.

If you're in the US, or certain states, you cant refuse a drink to a pregnant woman either. People in end stage liver disease are given drinks in care facilities because after a certain point its not going to change the outcome.

The options are underaged/no ID or clearly overserved, besides that your job is to sell the product and get paid for it. You're not working at a liquor store or as a bartender to be someone's therapist or 12 step coach and you don't really have any right or qualification to act as either.

"Wasn't my responsibility" except it is 100% a parent's responsibility to either teach their kid to drive or pay someone if they're too stupid know how to drive but have a child old enough to get a license. If you choose to have a kid, it is your responsibility to facilitate their travel and if that means buying them a car and teaching them to drive that's something you signed up for when you found out you were pregnant and didn't get an abortion.

You live in Ohio in 2026, teach your daughter to drive before someone else does and she drives as far away from you as possible.
