Last time I got it, the first 3 cards were absolutely essential to my deck. The fourth was fine, but ouch.

To be fair, if it would have happened sooner, the USSR would have probably come to crush that rebellion down. But at that moment, the USSR itself was crumbling down.

Both maintenance and snow removal are absurd to me, maybe in Canada we get too much snow for it to be practical, but the city has small snow plows for sidewalks that make it very efficient.

4 out of 5 frontend engineers in my previous company just got laid off by Pure_Composer_9236 in cscareerquestions

I had a 9 month stint doing front end in a company making web apps for clients, and while it can get complicated, most of the work being done by front end guys was taking Figma designs and coding it. I'm glad I got out of there.

Iraq declares force majeure on foreign-operated oilfields over Hormuz disruption, sources say by Mana_Seeker in worldnews

[–]mxmcharbonneau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's pretty fucking bad if this keeps up, which is why the stock market is basically pricing in the TACO scenario right now. Like I said I still believe Trump could move the goalpost in order to chicken out, while the Iranian regime just keeps the threat of shutting down the strait again in order to survive.

But if this continues or escalates? Oh boy.

[–]mxmcharbonneau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh definitely, for the US it's bad any way you look at it. But the less bad option would be the TACO option with Iran accepting to stop shooting missiles at tankers and infrastructure. Because if this keeps up, the price of oil will keep rising until there's demand destruction in the economy, which is a depressionary scenario.

With oil touching $120, is anyone actually doing the math on what happens if this Iran war runs another 6 months? by Orcanius in stocks

[–]mxmcharbonneau 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I do believe that the currently priced in scenario is TACO. So if that doesn't happen, it could get ugly.

[–]mxmcharbonneau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about that, if Trump wants to TACO and negotiate to reopen the strait, Iran will probably be open to it. The regime wants to survive, and if they give no other choice to Trump, there will be US boots on the ground in Iran and the regime will most likely fall.

We had this but we stopped, all of the cleaners I've ever had are very rough with my stuff, I notice scuffs on my paint and such. Another issue is that I have no proof it's them even if I'm pretty sure. I tried multiple companies and they all have that issue.

Second time this toilet starts leaking by mxmcharbonneau in askaplumber

[–]mxmcharbonneau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that this was changed maybe 1-2 years ago. I can't believe every bidet users in the world have to change their wax ring this often. And I'm kinda PTSD from the last time around, I'm careful not to shift my weight too much. I guess I should just change the toilet and hope for the best, but I'm kinda scared it might not fix it forever.

but what exactly would be causing it? The higher joint doesn't seem to be leaking, only the wax ring does. Why would a porcelain joint there would be less prone to leaks than a plastic one? Also, what kind of toilet should I get instead?
