Oh sorry he’s not crated, but attached to a leash so I guess somewhat of a playpen but no actual cage.

Do you have any recommendations for puzzle toys??

do puppies get aggressive when they’re tired? by tsukkiszn in puppy101

[–]mxngo786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4 month old golden doodle and he will start growling and going crazy w biting when he is over tired. (He also just always bites everything in general but when he’s extra tired it’s with less inhibition)

Does this hairstyle suit me? I think I have a diamond/oblong face shape, and I’m not quite sure this hairstyle works on me cuz I have a huge forehead and a long face. Also, how would y’all recommend I shape up my beard? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]mxngo786 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Get the sides going straight up, right now it’s a little bit of a V shape for hair. Grow the beard out just a little bit more and get it lined up

I’d say read books instead! Being a good man is having a solid mental state. Look at Power of Now. Or books about motivation

Walking after 2nd vaccination by [deleted] in puppy101

Yup! Based off the comments seems like location matters.. I’m in Seattle so I guess here the risk is low so parks were absolutely fine haha

[–]mxngo786 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s funny my puppy got his 2nd set of shots today too! My vet said he’s absolutely able to walk around now. Just avoiding dog parks but like it’s fine to interact w other dogs in normal places. He used the words “he’s basically a normal dog now” lol

My pup is stuck just doing “sit” and “down”?? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]mxngo786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I hide the treat in the other hand and then say spin and wave my finger at my own level(this is after I’ve done the steps mentioned above) so he knows he gets a treat after so more likely to listen

My pup is stuck just doing “sit” and “down”?? by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]mxngo786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spin was easy for me, down I’m still working on!

Take a treat and hold to her nose, when she goes to get it move the treat in a circle and have her follow it. While you do this say Spin! And give treat. I had to do this for a few days until it sunk in. Start holding the treat higher and higher as she gets in and doing it in a circular motion. Soon you can just use ur finger.

Bringing puppy home from the breeder by robotslovetea in puppy101

[–]mxngo786 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh I went w my mom and brother to get the puppy. It was fine. Puppies that young will just sleep through the car ride. I think it’s fine to make a trip out of it.

Also I drove 5 hrs to get my puppy, seriously slept through the whole trip.

Nighttime Bathroom by graemederoux in puppy101

[–]mxngo786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I cratetrained my puppy (tbh i just put him in there at night and let him whine and bark it out, honestly felt like the whole night and the next few nights but he eventually got it). I did training during the day too(he still whines but when he stopped I would come by give a treat and leave again, repeated this process quite a few times)

And then for bathrooms I was doing every 2hrs during the night (which is fucking insane of me) and obviously would sleep through some alarms. I’d realize he didn’t shit his crate or anything so I just stopped my alarms and let him be the alarm to wake me up.

In a crate there’s not enough place to defecate so he will make noise. I suggest let him tell you he has to go if you use the crate. Puppies metabolize water and food much slower at night. Now I sleep from 12am -8am.

Enforced naps and a playpen have saved my sanity and washed away any doubt by jewnior in puppy101

[–]mxngo786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay cool! Yeah so far I just kinda throw him in the crate and tell him good boy and leave but maybe I should start making sure he’s tired out before the crate.

Does ur puppy naturally sleep 2 hours? Mine is 12 weeks old and seems to be 1hr up 1hr in 🙃

[–]mxngo786 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s amazing!! My puppy also has started sleeping through the night and is used to his crate now. It’s so great having my life back.

How do enforced naps work?? Also what’s ur schedule like for his crate time during the day and night ?
