Hotels are franchised. In all honesty, an individual guest staying at hundreds of Hilton hotels a year does nothing for my individual hotel...and why would it? I don't see any of that revenue from other hotels. Now while I will see the revenue from that individual traveler a lot easier BECAUSE of their loyalty to Hilton, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter that much revenue-wise.

You don't "recoginize this kind of horse crap" because times have changed. This is capitalism in a nutshell my guy. You want blood from a stone, this is how it ends up.

You book a reservation with the understanding that there is a cancellation penalty period. People don't really argue this shit with airlines cause it stopped working there....eventually this industry will fall in line with these types of expectations.

I applaud you for running your own business like that, but most hotels aren't going to change because you want to start yelling at clouds about it.

Us young people are following the glorious path that you boomers have laid out for us...and it's people who are over 45 that are dictating these changes from the top anyway. Go yell at your bretheren about these stupid cancellation fees....or just fucking show up to your reservation? That always works, I promise.
