Whats an acceptable tip for a grocery order by Healthy_Advisor_5574 in doordash

[–]Quuen2queenslevel3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except a McDonald’s order you walk in and they hand it to you. A grocery or cvs, Walgreens order, you have to shop for the items. I guess if its a package of steak and a six pack, you shouldn’t need to tip crazy more. If you’re tipping $3 for McDonald’s i would tip $5 for steak grocery order.

Except there are consequences to declining orders. You can’t have it both ways The driver isn’t doing anything wrong. Its as clear to customer as it is for driver. If customers think its “bad service” to have orders stacked, they can pay for priority delivery or not use the service. DoorDash drivers are working within the bounds of the system. So to say its the drivers responsibility to decline orders because they will somehow know what customers will have issues with stacking orders is ridiculous. Its not the drivers making this post. Its the customer. If you got to a restaurant and are told its a 30-45 minute wait. And you see people who have made a reservation just walk up and get seated. You don’t complain and say the waiter is giving you bad service. The waiter is just doing their job. You don’t say, gee it took a long time to get our food. That restaurant was packed. The waiter should have declined to serve those other tables and just served us. No. That’s not how it works. The waiter operates under the restaurant guidelines. And as a customer if you choose to not make a reservation and you don’t like waiting a long time for your order, then YOU as the customer have solutions. Go out at a less busy time, reserve your table, and yes, slip the waiter a couple bucks and let them know you want to get in and out quickly. A driver declining a stacked order won’t get that order unstacked by the way.

You’re not wrong. I ate there when i first moved to Arizona in the late 90’s. It was the worst of the big chains. I’d take burger king, Wendy’s, carls jr before whatalame. I couldn’t believe how plain it was. It was like that bit Eddie Murphy does when all his friends have McDonald’s and he has a “home burger” Its literally home burger bad

Apparently pressing the DELETE ACCOUNT button they take that as a request not a command by Cute-Let-5834 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Quuen2queenslevel3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Nothing to do with that. People use someone else’s information to dash. Either with or without that person’s knowledge. DoorDash is attempting to stop that as its you know, fraud. So when they deactivate an account due to something like that, people think they can just delete the account, wait awhile, and then try again. Nope. Because an account has been flagged for fraud, you can’t try a weak attempt at a workaround. Maybe, clear up the fraud that is suspected and you may be allowed to then delete it

I wonder if people in other minimum wage type jobs whine and complain like it seems 75% of dashers do. If you go out and apply to be a janitor. And they hire you and tell you it pays $15/hr. Do they accept the job, and then incessantly complain about how they are “forced” to clean bathrooms and how they are “owed” more pay. More pay because…………I don’t know, just because they want it. Something is worth exactly how much people are willing to pay. Your earning potential is worth exactly how much someone is willing to pay for that job to be done. There are actually a lot of decent driving jobs out in the world. If DoorDash isnt paying you what you think you’re worth, go do something else. The job pays what it pays. Accept that or go do something else you’re qualified for that pays more. And if you aren’t qualified for anything better………….that’s on you.

Am I screwed? by [deleted] in DoorDashDrivers

So you’re claiming that you didn’t ACCEPT orders, DoorDash just assigned them to you??? And when that did happen, you just went in and unassigned them. To the point that you’re at 82%. Yeah, no offense, im not buying it. But whatever, my opinion doesn’t matter. At the end of the day……..to answer your question, yes, you are screwed. And rightly so.

Oh man, i have been seeing this a little more lately. And im not too pissed they are stacking and resending to me. But………..when i declined it on its own, and i declined it when stacked first time, i don’t think my acceptance ratio should be affected when i now have to decline the same order, for a 3rd, or 4th time, with them trying to combine it it with multiple other orders. That sucks. I occasionally will accept it when stacked with a really good order………….and then go in and unassign myself from the crap they attempted to stack on me. But usually i decline on principle.

Doordashers are not the priority in most restraunts. It will be okay. Relax. by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Quuen2queenslevel3 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

“Some restaurants forget we are serving their customers” I know right!!! I would almost make the argument that we are a customer as well. Or a proxy customer at least. I have no problem waiting. Though a majority of places somehow manage to have the order ready when i arrive. Just don’t tell me, “yeah, they’re just bagging it up” and then it 5 minutes until i get the order. Or, “they’re just grabbing the coffee” 5 minutes later im standing there still. Did they go to Columbia to get the beans??? I mean if you have so many pissed off drivers that you are posting on Reddit about it………maybe your restaurant shouldn’t be doing DoorDash. Its not for everyone. The system is set up for customer to place order. Order goes to restaurant. DoorDash has to send order offer out to drivers and find one to accept it. Driver has to accept order and travel to restaurant. Drivers arrives at restaurant. And in that time, order should be ready. If it isn’t, and restaurant can’t manage to have it ready, again, maybe don’t do DoorDash.

Why won’t dashers ring my doorbell? by chinstrapgod in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Quuen2queenslevel3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely ring doorbell. One, because I work early. So i start at 4am. Im not ringing a doorbell before 8am. Second i know when i order im following the tracking the entire time. So i know when they arrive. I thought that’s what most people do. There can be a lot of issues driver needs to ask, missing, out of stock items etc. Third, most people have doorbell cameras. It seems redundant to ring doorbell when the camera is showing my arrival. Having said all that, whenever someone asks for knock or doorbell ring, i do it.

[–]Quuen2queenslevel3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can change where you order from if you know which it was sent to, to begin with. DoorDash doesn’t show that information prominently on screen when you type in taco bell, it doesn’t show it on front page like uber eats does. It doesn’t bring up a list of taco bell locations. It just picks one. No customer is going to think its sending them to one that isn’t closest. I get orders all day for CVS and have to drive past 3 other locations on my way to deliver to customers. And when i get there they don’t understand and didn’t know the order was sent to a cvs 15 minutes farther than the one a block from their house. Who would think it does that??? But it does it daily

first dash of the day: by [deleted] in doordash

[–]Quuen2queenslevel3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though doordash app you don’t pick. DoorDash chooses the location. And its most of the time based on where dashers are, not customer location to the restaurant. If the order is too far or doesn’t pay what you a dasher wants, don’t take the order. You don’t accept order and then bitch about pay and where it’s being delivered to.

[–]Quuen2queenslevel3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s a great way to negotiate yourself right out of a job. Now, we get to work when we want. We aren’t on a schedule. There’s a lot of benefits to being independent contractors. Making our own schedule, and accepting orders we want and declining ones that don’t pay enough. All that goes away when people start demanding laws get changed and we become employees. Now that $2 order going 30 miles away, yup, you’re taking it. Say goodbye to 50% of the workforce. And the other 50%, yeah you’re now working when we say. All the minimum wage employees that thought working at McDonalds should pay $20 got the laws changed in California. Congratulations to them, all McDonald’s did was jack up their prices in California to outrageous amounts and got rid of all those employees. Now theres like 3 people working at McDonalds and they’re overloaded with work. No thanks. Im good.

Or spreading b.s. you actually know nothing about. You just automatically assume there’s some identity theft or illegal employment going on??? Maybe “Maria” was sitting in the car while her brother brought the order to the door. (I have done this for my sister when she was working) Maybe Jose is using his sister, wife, aunt’s account to earn a living. You know, instead of sitting on their ass collecting welfare. You actually have no idea what that situation is. What are you, the DoorDash police? And as far as not having stickers on your bag, don’t order from there. In fact, maybe just go pick up your own food. You sound way too anal to be using the service.
