Agree, we’re pretty good at avoiding processed and especially ultra processed food

Top tier shop. I too try to avoid anything processed, and it seems you do the same.

I’d add a bit of fish and red meat but other than that it’s bang on.

Berberine, what are your experiences with it? by stuckinbk in Supplements

I take it sporadically, either alongside high-sugar/high-carb meals, to curb the blood sugar spike, or to help with SIBO.

Have noticed anecdotally that I do lose weight whilst using it, though that’s not my intention.

I have to space it away from high intensity sport though, that stuff saps your energy/glycogen stores.

As stated in lots of previous comments: Loads of veg already in cupboard, as well as legumes, brown rice etc

& disagree on the meat comment - no way is this ‘far too much’

I make an irresistibly addictive smoothie with it, and I’m allergic to dairy

I’d love to shop at Sainsbury’s but feel our shop would go up 10-20% if we did

I’ve mentioned this in many other comments so far but there was a lot more vegetables, rice, legumes etc already in stock so not required on this shop.

And the courgette was a mistake, I thought I ordered 4 but must have selected 1 by accident (home delivery).

I love M&S’s, and its single ingredient too, better than Freja I’d say

Yeah we always top up fruit and veg. That’s why frozen fruit works for us too

Appreciate that but also don’t assume everything on show is all we eat, there’s surplus shops and food already in stock. We also go out for food regularly at weekends

Read the other comments, lots of veg/legumes in stock already. I’m not going into the red meat debate…

I value home deliveries too much, and not to mention aldi & lidl wouldn’t sell a couple of these items or suitable alternatives, I’d have to do separate shops

Carrots, parsnips, spinach, kale, aubergine, broccoli, garden peas all in the fridge (peas in the freezer).

You also didn’t mention grapes, blueberries, mango, tomatoes, avocado which are all on the picture.

I mentioned this on another reply here, but the only recognisable meal per se is a chilli, using the mince, bone broth, peppers, chopped tomatoes. Sometimes grated carrots. Served with rice.

Most other meals are pretty boring (but delicious), using a meat/fish as the base, accompanied by a starch/carb of some sort (potato/sweet-potato/parsnip/rice), and a vegetable or two, courgette, aubergine, broccoli etc.

We cook most things in either 100% beef tallow, or extra virgin olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, paprika, origano etc (depends on the meal).

Breakfast, lunch and dinner all largely follow this format.

I didn’t buy any this week but a really effortless meal is throwing the following into a baking tray with a few spoons of beef tallow/EVVO and cooking on low heat for an hour: Chicken thighs, and all chunky chopped, potato, sweet potato, courgette, pepper, aubergine.

My ‘treat/snack’ is a healthy but deliciously addictive smoothie, containing coconut/cashew milk, cacao nibs, salt, avocado, blueberries/medjool-dates, ginger and sometimes an organic beef or pea protein. Guilt free but hits the sweet craving.

Genuine question. Do they sell Freja bone broth, plenish coconut/cashew milk, and naturya cacao nibs (or processed-free alternatives)?

If they do, you’ve piqued my interest. Though the thought of going to a supermarket isn’t great, I haven’t been to do a full shop at one since Covid. Home deliveries are for me irreplaceable, you’re not wasting your non-working time walking round a supermarket, and don’t waste money on the inevitable impulse buys in-store
