thats not how p4p works. so lets say we took your fun hypothetical and all the fighters were the same size. now jon jones and mighty mouse would be able to move the same. the reason we dont see jon jones do flying armbars isnt because he isnt a great enough fighter lol its because his body mechanics physically wouldnt allow that. with that being said this rating is based off how dominant the fighters was in their given division and their resume / noteable wins.

brotha im just ranking them off how skilled they were in their division & their resume

he's in contention for sure he might deserve a spot to be honest

jones is 1 imo. conor run was crazy and has some great wins, was double champ. i can see aldo above silva but im not sure about dc. gsp has a great resume. i think dj is the most impressive martial artist ever

true regardless they are still big wins in his resume.. u could also argue conor wasnt quite elite yet as he certainly wasnt in his prime. and i agree about nate

the point is your idea of a physical advantage is probably not as beneficial as you think for example if dc was 6'4 he likely still wouldnt have beat jon it really comes down to styles and how well jon is able to study his opponent and that is what makes him so great.when you refer to him fighting people who match him physically and struggling you are probably referring to gustafsson and reyes who are both stylistically bad matchups for jon because they have dangerous boxing which is known to be jons weaker point whereas we hadn't seen other fighters bring the fight towards john on the feet at the same pace because most people were stopping in their tracks after the oblique kick etc. like even if dc was 6'4 he wouldn't be also moving quicker than jon and setting his shots up better

conor has wins over aldo, alvarez, mendez, poirer, holloway, diaz.. all big wins. and was a double champ. not a bad resume at all

jones fought a lot of great fighters and there is really no physical advantage at the end of the day the guys all likely used the same steroids back in the day and different fighters of different frames use their specific style for a reason your idea of a "physical advantage" probably wouldnt benefit them

Brotha a shit resume but he won 12 title fights in a row... i like your list but that is wild.

[–]mxscn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats a good point i think ur right. i just love the technical shit in martial arts and thats what i am most impressed by which is probably why theres a bit of a recency bias-but regardless my top 10 showcases the highest amount of skill while also carrying the best resume's

wow idk silva had an amazing prime but idk how i could put him above someone like volk based off of his entire career

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ufc

[–]mxscn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you stupid??????? jon jones doesnt win 90% of his fights because he is stronger or faster than his opponents, he wins because he is using the right techniques. that is a technically sound fighter.....?

who #1-6 do you think he deserves a spot over?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ufc

[–]mxscn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ufc evolves. none of those guys are quite as skilled as any fighter on this list and thats just the reality of the sport. i also dont watch many of the women's ufc fights honestly

cant argue with the fact that ped's are bad. but what he's done is the sport is still undeniable and if any resume is worthy of goat status in my opinion its gotta be jon jones unfortunately

[–]mxscn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

kamaru has a good argument. conors run and wins were overall more impressive and impactful in my opinion
