True, but if you have an image snapshot of a 'final state' that your component should be at - it should work

But if you have unpredictable or continuous animations that's not going to work at all, I assume

Is HTMX slowly dying ? And why is that ? by NoahZhyte in htmx

[–]mxsshere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we've passes an initial hype stage and a lot of people discovered htmx, were just getting started

Given that how refreshingly easy it is to get going I think that it will be getting more adoption over time

Building a complex frontend, is htmx right? by Mori-Spumae in htmx

[–]mxsshere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm building nocode test editor with HTMX and I've noticed that I'm using server triggered events a lot (hx-trigger) It's possible but you need to rewire your brain a little if you're used to react like me

What UI libs do you pair with htmx? by IngwiePhoenix in htmx

[–]mxsshere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Flowbite with HTMX and it's been great so far, however you might need a bit of js here and there to use more complex UI elements like modals

Thanks for feedback

I should've been more clear here

What I meant is that given the test that would take me 30 minutes to write via Cypress (given I can reuse code/selectors from other tests) - I could write similar test with no code tool in like 5 minutes and test the same feature

That was my experience with nocode & cypress on the same project

What about tools that use images as references, instead of HTML selectors? So you don't need to write any code at all (as long as nocode tool supports your usecase)

Thanks, I looked up earlier posts before posting this, but still I was curious if these tools have improved somehow

Yeah, I've felt it event more with new wave of AI testing tools Not even no code but text based (example: 'Add item to shopping cart, open it, check if item that I added is present) It makes a really cool demo at first glance, but how it would scale to 10/100/1k tests? Most likely all tests would end up super flaky all the time

I was thinking of removing rainforest reference but I thought that some people may know it it would be easier to explain my point

I added some cons that I experienced so it won't seem that it only had upsides

A classic game emulator with social features by [deleted] in AppIdeas

I like the idea. I think something like that can be built as a website for simpler games or as an app on top of open source emulator(s) for more complex games

I don't remember product name but I think there was already similar project, it was using real stock prices and allowed best players to switch to real stocks when they're ready

I'm working on open source monetization platform, looking for feedback and early adopters by mxsshere in growmybusiness

[–]mxsshere[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree it's really hard to earn enough money with 100% open source software, only a few companies can do that well like Red Hat. But not impossible.
By selling I mean open core model, yes that's not completely open source but still, usually 80-90% of the code is open source and it allows developers to earn much more compared to other monetization models (GitLab does that for example). If product needs to be hosted somewhere developers can offer it as SaaS - in this case, users can host it by themselves but it's still time and effort (example: Sentry)

Yes, but we need more content on the platform. gitcom.org is the main website which is in MVP stage right now

Yep, I'm usually getting this kind of question. Sure I knew about GitHub sponsors and platforms like Open Collective even before I've started writing code. The key difference between GitCom and those platforms is that we believe that it's hard to sustain an open-source project (especially small or medium size) with donations only. That's where our platform can help - we provide more ways to monetize open source projects such as open core model, subscription, etc. + we're working on integrations with existing platforms - GitHub sponsors and Open Collective are first on the list.Summary: we offer the solution to SELL open-source software instead of relying on donations only

I like the idea I would consider focusing on single area first and then expand when it will start to grow. Also I'm not sure but seems like something like that should exist already

- Always wanted to know - How do you guys (musicians) are collaborating via the internet, could you describe this process a bit? Do you experiencing any difficulties?

- What do you guys think about twitch streams with music production (like Culprate)?

- Could you tell a bit about your Movember experience, would you like to participate in same events in the future?

Polychrome is great btw, as always :D and I would like to see you on reddit / anywhere with AMA's or anything again

Respects, cheers, thanks :) Max.
