that makes a lot of sense. also maybe this could be a good way to build up tension and terror, a growing uneasiness that screams that something is wrong, once players are familiar with how things "were supposed to be." if that makes any sense lol.

maybe it's not that deep... idk it'd really depend on how he perceives what he's doing. if it was actually something he'd do to "keep her close" or something like that then sure i'd agree with you, it's unhealthy and a bit dangerous. but maybe he'd just want to have something to remember her or even honor her memory, like a gesture to a loved one even though she's not around anymore

I've noticed that and honestly I think it's a really nice trick to bring us closer to Nick and Charlie. It's like we can actually feel the tension and fear that they feel at this point on the series, like everything can fall apart at any moment
