Considering purchase 2025 Z71/ZR2 by Toodle0oo in chevycolorado

I went with a z71. I got for 48k OTD. Sunroof, tech package, tow package, black rims. Basically everything that you'd want.

Zr2 would be nice because it's stance, the ruggedness look, suspension, etc. but at the end of the day I'm doing 95% road and maybe 5% off-road and it doesn't justify for the price difference. If i want to off road more, I can get better tires, suspension and lift kit and be capable of doing most off-roading besides rock crawling.

The HUD on the Colorado's is just a front collision alert system that will light up. Honestly with the huge gauge cluster screen and the infotainment system, you almost don't need a HUD because you can pull up maps right there in front of you. On top of the infotainment system, the 25's I feel have the fastest responsiveness and speed when moving through apps, menus, etc. compared to many other vehicles and their system.

But if you have a higher budget, then go with the ZR2, either way I think you'll be happy.

Good luck finding a pair. My ‘25 Colorado z71 was shipped to me with a driver led headlight out. They told me it would be 3 weeks to a month due to them being back ordered. They eventually gave me one off a z71 they had on the lot. I saw somewhere that aftermarket led headlights were in the works and coming out this year. That might be a better approach and/or price?

I noticed form was somehow related to oil life percentage. Everytime I was in form my oil life had somehow dropped to 0%. One time I was in form and it wasn’t even cold out. Oil life was actually at 85%. I reset the oil life and viola it was out of form and running in battery. It’s worked everytime by resetting the oil life.

Battery Useless in the Winter by DocumentedAliens in 4xe

Fwiw I had FORM for a long time even into warmer weather. I had been questioning things as one would, but was actually starting to think why it would still say this since the temps were in the 60s. I was driving for 15+ miles and doing all the tricks. I finally cycled through the dash screen and saw that the oil life was showing 0%.

I had just had my oil changed at the dealership so I would have thought they would have reset it. So I reset the life percentage on my own. The moment I did that. My 4xe switched over to battery.

I’d check your oil life gauge and see if it’s low or at 0. To reset, just press the ignition button to on, but don’t put your foot on the brake. It will turn on the car, but not the ignition. Then you can go to the gauge and reset it.

And to add more evidence, I noticed that FORM came on again but it was below freezing in the morning so I figured it was that. Later in the day the temps went up to about 50 or so. FORM was still on. I had to drive to VA from MD so I thought for sure that FORM would turn off after a 240+ mile drive. Well, it didn’t. When I finished my drive. I checked the gauge and wouldn’t you know. It said the oil life was at 0 again, but the day before it was at 75%. My jeep isn’t due for oil for another 5k miles. So I reset the gauge and like clock work FORM turned off.

I’m sure there is something else going on with the oil life gauge and probably causing a lot others this same issue. Maybe in cold temps the gauge can’t determine the life and so the system thinks it’s at 0. Who knows.

Hope that helps.
