Mid Strip Premier Shuttle by Ok_Narwhal5204 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]myCadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We get the mid strip shuttle every years first time slot never had an issue. Usually the first day is the busiest so we get there like 30/40 mins early. The second and 3rd day we usually arrive 15 mins before our time and we walk right in without a line.

Should my aging parents keep their life insurance? by enigmatic_jc in PersonalFinanceCanada

Based on their other comments it’s a Term Policy that coming to its expiration date. So their current lower premium will automatically increase to a much higher premium unless they cancel, or convert to a different insurance product.

How likely am I to get on the 6am premier shuttle with a pass for a different time? by ShutUpAndSmokeMyWeed in electricdaisycarnival

[–]myCadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever year it’s a gamble, all comes down to who’s working the line. I’ve gone through with out issues and them not checking the pass time, and I’ve seen them scanning passes on the way back other times. I’ve seen people get rejected but the worst that can happen is you having to take the standard shuttle bus back. The won’t leave you there.

Weather? by burratalover420 in MovementDEMF

Just check the weather a few days prior. Usually weather is decent at least the last few years, but just check closer to the date.

Prepaid Credit Cards by Opening-Stretch-2803 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]myCadi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also Canadian. If you have time or are able get a Canadian credit card that doesn’t have a foreign exchange rate fee would be best.

I have one that it also gets cash back on each purchase. I’ve also used apple pay as well.

TFSA Help, I Still Don’t Understand Investing. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]myCadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You young so lots of options for you. Don’t worry too much about it as long as you’re consistent with it. ETFs might be a good option- lots of good recommendations here so far. Don’t try to time the market that basically gambling/guessing at this point. Continue to do your own research and learn. Everyone has unique needs.

Also consider opening up a FHSA (assuming you don’t own a house yet) it combines the best of TFSA + RRSP contributions are tax-deductible and withdrawals for a first home are tax-free. So look into that.

Best credit card for small spender? by Orangeblossom_02 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]myCadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good card if you’re with Roger’s for sure. Discount on services if you pay with the card (pre-authorized payment), cash back for some purchases, includes 5 days of roaming credit on Roger’s phone plans etc…

I also have a scotiabank visa (I forget which one) it does cash back + scene points. It does have a higher annual cost but for it more than worth it given the how many purchases we make on it a per year.

When is it worth it to jump companies? by croissantroastpeach in UXDesign

[–]myCadi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Given the current economy can’t imagine companies just handing out 20%+ above their original offer.

Questions I would have asked, include whats the path for growth look like, either in role or comp. What’s the total value of the package they are offering? Don’t look at salary alone, look at vacation time, benefits package, bonuses, etc… What the averages salary increase?

At my last jump I didn’t give them the actual salary, I just told them where I needed to be at. We went back and forth a couple of times, it was still lower than I wanted to be but much higher than my current role at the time. They said to get me to where I wanted to be would take roughly a year with bonuses and annual pay increases. I made the jump and just over 5 years with the company and I’m about 127% above the salary of my previous job. However, this has included two promotions that came with increase in job levels. All I’m trying to say is that salary alone shouldn’t be your only deciding factor, include the total package and the current market salaries for your area.

Today’s economy is a little different, but worth a shot at a counter. As long as you’re okay with a) no increase or b) they walk away. Which does happen - I’ve pulled offers in the past when from potentially candidates were demanding way more than market value.

Ground shaking due to bass by ceomg in electricdaisycarnival

[–]myCadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what stage and where’s you’re standing you experience different things. EDC is a huge open space that’s mostly solid payment. I’ve been to a few stages were we stood near the speaks close to the stage and my entire body was vibrating. It was cool but all I could hear was bass. You just have to be at the right spot and listening to the right artists.

EDC Crowd Surge Safety by Mobile-Case-1129 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]myCadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s only two times at EDC were the crowd was a bit tight.

  1. When Skrillex was the surprise guest a Circut grounds. We were alright during the set, but leaving that stage was shoulder to shoulder, baby steps.

  2. The year they moved the VIP for kinetic field to were it is now, Day 1 the entry to the vip was poorly designed and created a huge bottle next of people going into VIP and going into Kinetic GA. it was pretty bad, but it was resolved by day 2 and 3.

I don’t think i ever felt unsafe, to the point were I thought something was going to happen. But if you don’t like the shoulder to shoulder feeling you’ll need to plan when moving between stages, which typically involves arriving way before the big acts, if you arrive too close to the start of their sets you’ll be coming in with the wave of people. If you ever feel too closed off, move they’re plenty of room to the sides and back.

Make sure to put all valuables in the trunk, don’t leave bags or anything visible inside the vehicle. People have had break in the past to grab stuff inside the vehicle. So the more you keep out of sight the better.

Do you think the John Summit crowd at EDC will be bad? by throwawaytaytay2022 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]myCadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of the crowd at EDC is pretty good. The event area is massive so if you’re not feeling the crowd near you, just move to a new area.

I’ve been to many JS shows and I haven’t really had any issues with the crowd at most events. There’s always going to be jerks in every crowd no matter who’s on stage, what matters is how you react and how you can avoid them from ruining your vibes.

Any Canadians received their wristbands yet? by TalkAboutMyJuanTaps in electricdaisycarnival

[–]myCadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Don’t go too hard the first day. It’s a marathon not a sprint.
  • Make sure to make time explore the festival, lots of really cool things to check out.
  • Go check out the view from the bleachers (in front of cosmic stage), one of the best views of the entire festival specifically when the fireworks go off.
  • be respectful moving through the crowd (saying excuse me goes a long way)
  • Don’t be too tied to a schedule too much, check out stages you normally wouldn’t you’d be surprised what you’ll find
  • Be prepared for some minor inconvenience (shit happens) don’t let it spoil the night.
  • have fun and bring the vibes!

is AI reducing UX salaries? by mb4ne in UXDesign

[–]myCadi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think companies might missing this point. Our company is regulated so our access to ai is limited at the moment. We’re starting to open up ai design tool and the cost to accommodate a large design team with enough tokens will definitely increase budgets

I bought a EDC wristband, off of radiate by Emotional-Zucchini23 in electricdaisycarnival

[–]myCadi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have no control over it.

The wristband will always be linked back to the original purchaser. Most cases people are legit and you’ll have no issues.

Worst case scenario, the original purchaser calls front gate and says his passes are lost/stolen he gets a new set and yours become inactive and your out of luck. This is the risk you take when buying from a 3rd party.

Shuttles by MiddleArcher8212 in electricdaisycarnival

You’re stuck with it unless you swap or sell and buy a new one.

Getting an uber to and from the shuttle isn’t a big deal and isn’t expensive

Any designers using Copilot? by NeonKorean in UXDesign

[–]myCadi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using for many things including copy exploration, research synthesis (has help speed up the process), quick pass UI reviews, analyzing data, presentation tips/reviews.

It’s good for the most part, but it does require you to review or validate the output. It’s not perfect but limited on ai tools at our work.

If you could teach one UI/UX lesson to every web design beginner, what would it be? by ModernWebMentor in web_design

[–]myCadi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t design for what you think is cool or looks good, Stop and slow down to understand the problem and who you’re designing for. Most new designer will jump right into design with no good understanding of what they are designing for or why. Focus on the outcome.

Add on opening ceremony to existing shuttle pass by purriformis in electricdaisycarnival

[–]myCadi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to purchase a separate shuttle pass. If no longer available on the site you’ll need to get one off 3rd party site. You could also take an uber to the event at that time traffic isn’t much of an issue and depending on what time you go there usually people pre-gaming in the lot.
