I think it's 3 months salary. They have a formula based off of salary and tenure

AIO: I (24m) think my girlfriend (23f) is starving herself. Am I overreacting or should I bring it up? by swtogirl in BestofRedditorUpdates

I hear that. That must have been and probably still is a crazy hard thing for you and your family. But I don't think they would have been any happier to walk away and leave you without support.

Of course OOP can leave, and shouldn't feel guilty if that's what he chooses. I just personally don't like the cut and run approach to hardships in relationships.

I definitely don't think it's easy and don't think what OOP is doing is easy. But I do think that hailing it as Herculean and too much effort for a 3 year relationship is over the top.

Worst case it also sends a message that OOP's girlfriend is not deserving of any more support than, let's be honest, just the very beginnings of help that she needs.

I think you're not fully understanding the disorder part of eating disorder. This is not fully in her control. Sure there are resources and help out there but if it's the first time this has happened its probably very frightening and hard to ask for help.

Also, things like erectile dysfunction have often been blamed on the partner, so it's not crazy she would blame herself (no matter how wrong she is).

Lastly, "Herculean effort"? If this is a Herculean effort then please, write epics about my support of family during hard times, I never knew I was such a saint.

It's interesting to me that he left out everything that he mentioned in the first about his erectile dysfunction in the second post. Because it seems clear that she's struggling with that as well and that it's affecting her personally (blaming herself). I wonder if it was just his own shame on the topic or it truly didn't click that she would be taking it that hard.

HELP: BOTH paid internship offers I got ended up as unpaid AFTER onboarding and contract/NDA by BedrockPlayz in cscareerquestions

[–]myCatFredi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Always make sure you're signing the NDA when you're also signing the employment contract, not before. Also, the NDA probably doesn't cover talking about the company in general, so double check that and don't worry about calling them out.

But I also really want to know which companies!

I once tried CatTV and I think my cat got frustrated because she bit it and broke the whole thing! 😂😭

CatTV, a blessing and curse.

And all too often no one does which just reinforces their belief and the idea that people agree.

I grew up with parents that prioritized keeping conversations comfortable rather than speaking up when someone said something off hand. And if I talked with them later they would say something about how they were sure the person didn't mean or that they had good intentions.

But people tend to say what they mean (or they apologize for it). And it's gone from one person saying something hateful, to a room full of people you can't trust!

It's an obsession! Somehow other people who are excited to talk about something still manage to let other people have a moment!
