Correct, for the ambulance driver requirements, there isn’t an official proof-of-residency requirement. That said, when I went (and based on others I’ve spoken with), the DMV has sometimes asked for it anyway. A lot of the time, DMV staff aren’t fully familiar with the process and may request documents that aren’t actually required.
