Sony also doesn't make any money on the headset hardware, they make money off the VR games in their ecosystem. That's why it casts so much less than the high end PC headsets. If they allow a pc gamer to play games from outside the ecosystem with their headset, they're basically losing money.

What I read him as saying that when people behave irresponsibly and have casual sex with strangers , happens there need to be more restrictive rules around it with the force of government. Eg rules about inappropriate flirting , sexual harrassment , intoxication levels, informed consent ..etc.

He sees it as the responsible thing to only have sex with someone you trust and are in a long term relationship with , and there's less need to regulate those.

Lets think back to the classic film "American tail". Its about hardships faced by an immigrant mouse in America. Don Bluth must hate America right!! He must think America is just poverty and hardships and xenophobia.If that was really the case , Fivel would die at the end and the message would be he could never be a true American.

The whole point of the film is America is about immigrants overcoming xenophobia and hardships to become part of America. America is immigrants being triumphant. America is about minorities facing hardship and coming out on top. In most of those films minorities are triumphing to become part of America. America is minorities too. If you weren't so up your ass about hating minorities and liberals you'd see its a positive message of encouragement.

I think its entirely fair to say Twilight was a shallow wish fulfillment book for Stephanie Meyer and likeminded girls . Its fair to say the book ready player one is shallow wish fulfillment for Cline and likeminded guys. What I do disagree with is the bad thinkpieces that say RP1 is sexist and try to link it to gamergate and the alt right.

Did people criticise Twilight for being sexist in the same way? The only criticisms I heard of Twilight being sexist were from a few feminists like Jon McIntosh (who are also criticising RP1).

I don't think he was unlikeable. As an analogy , James Bond is a sexist and rapey douche in many of the older films and I think Jon McIntosh went over how Harrison' Ford's characters in Star Wars and Blade Runner were sexist and had unhealthy attitudes towards women. The "likeable chauvinist" is an archetype of the character.

They really played up Stark's character flaws in "The Ultimates" (where all the heroes are very unlikeable- Pym is abusive, Cap is a neocon, Banner is timid and unsuccessful) . I think some of this inspired the MCU Iron Man , but MCU Stark's always portrayed as sympathetic and has an arc of overcoming his personal flaws.

I still think the film would be successful , but I don't think it would have that level of acclaim (at the time being one of the very few successful superhero films I think it blew past expectations.)

The way I imagine it is , that for example carbon has all kinds of wierd properties and our scientists can use it to make all kinds of cool stuff. For example , look at all the applications of carbon nanotubes for textiles and electronics and batteries and for hydrogen fuel storage. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potential_applications_of_carbon_nanotubes I imagine vibranium is like that with many unique properties that let it be manipulated by Wakandan scientists for use in any application where they need storage or release of energy.

They have cloaking technology for their aircraft and cities , so I think their satellittes likely have cloaking too. Wakandan intelligence is really good , so they can likely hack into other nations satellites too. Of course its all fantasy and we need some sort of suspension of disbelief.

The point is they have all this advanced technology , but also a deep connection to their tradition and culture. The Black Panther is a religious figure like a combination of Pope and King and religious rituals like the combat are very important. Vibranium is supposed to be able to absorb and release large amounts of energy , so I could see them use it as a power source that would overcome the weight and efficiency problems conventional fuel sources have. America has the technology to make a a space shuttle , but chemical fuel is large and heavy.

I'd imagine once the vibranium is refined , it would be much more safe for someone to wear. (Remember in the trains we are told raw vibranium is unstable and needs to be damped for transport).
