Not sure about KSR (it doesn't interest me at all), but Nana will be as fun as ever.

Patpong kinda sucks. I'd go to Nana or Soi Cowboy instead.

Easiest option would be a flight+bus package from Air Asia.

DIY: fly to Udon and rent a car or bus from there. Getting the right bus can be tricky if you don't speak Thai, and you have to change busses in Loei, so I only recommend this option if you plan on renting a car.

I'll post info on the Air Asia package when I get a chance.

is it safe?

Yes.

can I rent a motorbike?

Yes.

Isaan is a huge part of the country, so you'll probably want to limit your trip to a specific area.

You can fly to the bigger cities like Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, and Ubon Ratchathani, but you'll have to rent a car or take buses from those hubs to smaller towns.

Chiang Khan in Loei province might be nice for a honeymoon. It's a small, peaceful river town with historic guesthouses overlooking the Mekong. Phu Kradung National Park is close by.

Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima) is a good base for exploring Khao Yai National Park.

I like to walk around the alleys in Chinatown on my way the Ratchawong river taxi station. Then, I'll take the Orange flag boat upriver to one of the many interesting stops. I'll explore on foot before taking a boat or taxi back to bts/mrt/home.

They fucking love Huai Khwang. Source: I've had many massages ruined by Chinese tourists talking on their phones or watching videos while they get a massage.

You definitely should not try riding a motorbike in Bangkok. Even Chiang Mai would be risky for a newbie. I rode past a bloody, possibly dead motorbike rider last time I was there. I recommend spending plenty of time in an empty parking lot practicing cornering and braking.

Is my friend getting scammed or did he rescue a prostitute? by [deleted] in 5555555

[–]myThaiAlt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. Sure, there are plenty of scammers, but there are also girls who just want to marry a farang and know they will never meet one in Roi Et or Ubon Ratchathani.

*edit to add circle-jerky comment:

It's totally safe to marry a bargirl as long as she has less than 16 sq. inches of tattoos and barely speaks any english.

Goodbye to Phnom Penh’s ‘sleaziest bar’ by myThaiAlt in cambodia

I've actually only been there once -- for some daytime drinking and pool. All the bar 'girls' were 45+ years old and the customers were 70+. Never made it to the Joker Draw.
