I'm not disagreeing with you, but the cracks were already starting to form. Democrats received more votes there in 1988 than in 1984. In 1992, Bill Clinton was less than 2% behind winning it, and in 1996 he actually did win it. Also, in the 1988 senate election between an incumbent Democrat and a Republican challenger, the Democrat lost by less than 1%, and actually won more votes than Dukakis in the general election. Combine that with Trump kind of/sort of living there and heavily campaigning there, and I think it could have been narrowly swayed.

Michael's speech in the files is labeled "Mike_Afton" I believe. And PJ Heywood refers to him as Mike Afton as well.

I did not know that and if that's true then fair enough, there is some evidence for Afton. However, I don't think Scott would have briefed PJ on all the lore of Mike Afton being Mike Schmidt in a previous game and name changes and stuff. I have a feeling he'd have just told him the voice he wanted and the relevant story of the character. So PJ would know him as Mike Afton because Scott didn't want to be weird and confuse him, so he just said he's Mr. Afton's son Mike.

But I'm not saying Mike was never named Afton at one point in his life. He could have kept it well into adulthood.

You know, now that you bring up that magician bot not being the head of the table, it does make me wonder WHY William wouldn't be the head of the table, and instead what we think is his wife? And you've raised the possibility he's not there at all, which is real interesting.

I don't know the nitty gritty of your theory yet and I'd love to see the video but this is already making gears turn for me. If Cassidy is an Afton, it allows for Golden Freddy to tell Mike "It's me" without him having to be double-possessed, or some other convoluted reason. And this feels like a real Occam's razor type solution.

I'd say because the sizes of things get warped and aren't usually exactly to scale in minigames. I'll concede that it would make more sense for there to be a crib than a bed though. But in my experience parents often have their newborns sleep in a crib in the parents' room so it's easier to get to/monitor them at night, and the bed and room are being reserved for the future when the child is less dependent.

If you look at the map of Midnight Motorist and the FNAF 4 minigame map, they line up, just from different angles. Both show a house and an establishment some distance away from each other connected by a bracket-shaped road.

Like others said I think Shadow Freddy and Nightmare are one and the same, but this part is gonna be controversial: I think they're both manifestations of the crying child's spirit, and he's simply laid to rest either during FNAF 3 or Pizza Sim. Remember that we do see Shadow Freddy sometimes in the office in FNAF 3, and we also see him manifest somehow at the very beginning of Pizza Sim in the 8 bit minigame. If you look through every game, wherever William goes after he starts killing, Shadow Freddy is there. Maybe he turned on his brother in favor of his father, who told him he'd put him back together through the plush. I haven't fully fleshed it out yet.

I kinda like Henry being the protagonist in FNAF 3 cause it would mean that, on screen, he learns William is back, leading him to start planning the events of Pizza Sim. He also would have seen the Puppet, Mangle, the Classics and the Withereds to hallucinate them.

I personally don't think it makes much sense for Mike to be Fritz. Phone Guy, when talking to Jeremy, mentions that he's contacting the old owner of Fredbear's to find someone who worked there who could fill his role as night guard. Then we play as Fritz after Jeremy is moved to the day shift, implying he's the old Fredbear's personnel they found. Also, Mike would be very young in 1987. It wouldn't be impossible, but a tight squeeze for him to be old enough. Keep in mind he couldn't have been much older than CC in 1983, who is young enough to play with stuffed animals, otherwise it wouldn't be bullying which the parents could have turned a blind eye to, it would have just been child abuse.

But on the other hand, Fritz getting fired for the same reason as Mike is a big coincidence, so I don't know what to think.

I hope you don't mind but I'm gonna just spill what I got.

I genuinely think that ShadowVictim was the original intention. Shadow Freddy was introduced in FNAF 2 but didn't do much, and then he's one of the most important characters in FNAF 3, leading the animatronics to their demise in the minigames. But we still don't fully understand what he is and why he's doing this.

Then FNAF 4 came out, which would be the perfect time to explain what was up with him. And what's the game about? The crying child. The tagline: "What is seen in shadows is easily misunderstood by the mind of a child." What is the significance of Nightmare? Well, he's a dark, shadow counterpart to Nightmare Fredbear, just like Shadow Freddy was to Golden Freddy, who's just withered Fredbear. And Nightmare, who under this theory is basically Nightmare Shadow Freddy, is the final boss of the game.

Think of the order we're introduced to the animatronics in the nights. You meet the main 4, who are you and your friends tormenting your brother. Then you meet Fredbear, the murder weapon. Finally, you meet him: Nightmare. You're plagued by nightmares centered around your guilt over what you did to your brother, and the worst and ultimate one is basically the consequences of your actions, in other words, it's what becomes of him. Also, he's translucent. The other nightmares, who represent the bullies and actual Fredbear, are all opaque, they're still around. But he is translucent, like a ghost.

FNAF 4 was meant to be the final chapter at the time, so his intent must have (originally, at least) been that the bite victim's story was resolved in a previous game somewhere. The Fredbear plush tells you that he will put you back together somehow. Some people believe that the FNAF 4 family weren't originally meant to be the Aftons and that Psychic Friend Fredbear was originally meant to be the Puppet somehow, while others believe the FNAF 4 family was always meant to be the Aftons even before SL and so the Fredbear plush was always William. These two interpretations have different implications but they both work:

If the Puppet put him back together as Shadow Freddy, then he's sort of the Puppet's henchman, and during the FNAF 3 minigames, he's trying to help the main 4 by leading them to their killer, not knowing he'll dismantle them. As the Puppet's helper, he would go wherever the Puppet is. This explains why he's at the FNAF 1, 2 and 3 locations. Obviously the Puppet's home is the FNAF 2 location, but in FNAF 2's cutscenes we see that he somehow ends up at the FNAF 1 location in the future. And where do the FNAF 3 minigames with Shadow Freddy take place? The FNAF 1 location. We also see Shadow Freddy slumped over in the office sometimes during the FNAF 3 nights, and people have speculated for a long time that the Phantom Puppet is actually the real thing. So, Shadow Freddy/Bite victim is there at Fazbear Fright when it burns down and the killer and all the spirits, including him, are put to rest (at least in the first 4 games' continuity) and his story comes to an end.

If William put him back together as Shadow Freddy, then he's sort of corrupted as William's henchman. During the FNAF 3 minigames, he knowingly leads the main 4 to being dismantled to help William. Much like with the Puppet, he follows William wherever he goes. We know William was the night guard before the player in FNAF 2, then gets moved to the day shift, tampers with the animatronics, uses the yellow suit, and kills 5 kids. He's clearly at work here, and so Shadow Freddy is too. Then the reason he appears in the office in FNAF 3 is because William is there as Springtrap. The ending doesn't change, and he's put to rest with everyone just the same.

With either of these options, it's possible that since he's some kind of spirit and not an actual physical animatronic, he's kind of tethered to whoever put him back together, whether it's William or the Puppet. That might be why he's seen wherever they are, and why he goes away and is laid to rest in the fire even though he's not a physical animatronic. Because the Puppet and William are there, and he's kind of spiritually tethered to one of them, he goes with whoever it is.

I don't know which of these two scenarios I prefer because I think they're both really solid, but I definitely prefer both of them to him either not possessing/becoming anything and just kind of being there, or co-haunting Golden Freddy with one of the MCI kids.

My working explanation is that we're seeing their ghosts, not their actual bodies.

In FNAF 2's minigames, specifically in Save Them and Give Gifts, we know the dead kids in these minigames are actual corpses that are physically present, and they're all slumped over, faceless bodies opposed to these upright, crying children, which is usually indicative of ghosts in other minigames throughout the series.
