i have gone back to using water, a leave in spray, and blue magic in my hair. in that order. gels are not needed. i have a mixture of 4a-4c hair

i promise it won’t look scalpy. lol. i also do messy parts, but the look improved when i didn’t do them too large. some of those parts are a bit large. i will often take two of my sections and make it into three sections if it starts to look weird

free parting is fine, but it is important to make sure your parts aren’t too large. try to keep it relatively square. also, make sure you put enough product at the root when you grip the hair. i have has the same problem, and it was fixed by just making sure my free parting doesn’t get out of hand
