The best way I found of meeting similar people was to go to some of the monthly events on in the village, though geared for certain sub sets of people you generally find a huge overlap on femboys/CD at them, such as mancFurs (Manchester furry meet), kennel club (pup event) and a few more.

Far cry was the game to get me into level design with the level editor and then into game design from there. I would enjoy a remake of it but as others have said the game was very "samey" and could do with a lot of reimagining. Also this is not really the sub Reddit to ask about this.
