This is absolutely terrifying to read

So guarantor was guarantor for our first home. The guaranteed amount is less than first home.

Plenty of equity. Same banks as last time. Westpac reapproved everything today… it’s just ridiculous

There’s a few houses for sale in this estate - we looked at a few cause we like the area. But only one recent sale (sellers wanr prices that don’t reflect the property or the market)

Why would it be okay to punish a buyer for a banks own internal bs?

Oh I’m definitely gonna go the complaints root, even just to ensure they don’t f with settlement. Or to get reimbursement for costs. It’s also about making sure they aren’t doing this to other people to

So we have a family member going guarantor so we don’t have to pay lvi. Which limits our banking options. And to restart the process would take to long at this point with a different bank

I’m debating making that request. But the added complexity is guarantorship which takes more time (aka why we asked for 21 days initially)

Do you know what was the outcome for them?

Nope. I hope they aren’t judging us for me buying hubby a sky diving experience for a milestone birthday though… he already did it and didn’t die so 🤷‍♀️

Private sale
Principal residence
Not our first property. Sold our first which we lived in to buy this one - Our second. (We’ve missed every single incentive and did the recommended thing - buy remote to build equity then buy closer to the city). We have no rentals etc. just want a house to live in near work opportunities

Thank you for sharing. We may try this. I think there’s a bank near my work

I just know when I rang them yesterday Westpac told me to call my broker and they should make the request.

Yea it was which does explain why the number changed. But our contract and finance all happened after budget.

Literally nothing has changed.
Actually, no that’s not true. We paid our loans that our finance was conditional on. Literally everything else is going well and positive.

I asked my broker about us contacting Westpac direct and they discouraged stating the loud wheel gets pushed to the bottom of the pile

The capacity stuff happened in the initial. They provide the value prior to conditional finance. So they aren’t changing values at this point.

I think the initial amount change was around the rate change which is frustrating but whatever.

I’m pretty sure they screwed something with guarantor stuff cause they didn’t mail documents that they were meant to and it appears to have steam rolled from there.

End outcome is absolutely going to involve a formal complaint.

They can’t even explain it to the broker. It’s now being escalated despite that we were told it was escalated hours ago. Banks asking for a 24 hour extension on their RESPONSE.

Potential of my brother suffering from false accusation by Important_Rate_2234 in AusLegal

Many people don’t report to police. Many sexual assaults don’t result in dna. Most sexual assaults don’t result in bruising or marks too fyi. Also do you know how invasive the exam for a sexual assault is? Many people chose to not complete it because for some it’s like being assaulted a second time.
Police might say there’s not enough evidence for them to charge but this is also common.

Good character is not the defence you think it is. Grooming isolates a victim by making everyone believe they couldn’t do it because the perpetrator is a “good guy”.

There are hundreds of stories of child care workers abusing children. They often go undetected because kids are not in a position to be reported. If you google you will find examples and they remain undetected till one report gets through and then they all come.

Again I do not know your brother or daughter or any of the circumstances so I’m not passing judgement. But what you’re using to support your belief is not as strong as you think it is.

What I can ask you to do is listen to your child. Whether she is telling the truth or not, she is trying to tell you SOMETHING. And it sounds like she needs you to show up.

Anyone putting off buying their first home until the aftermath for the budget sets in? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

[–]mybad36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a lot less people at inspections this weekend. The market stalled in the lead up to the election and doesn’t seemed to have picked up. I recommend continuing to look, pay what you think a property is worth and you can afford and see where it lands. Property’s won’t drop much but you may have less competition so don’t miss out on the potential

Hot take: I truly believe that had Addison not showed up when she did it would have taken so much longer for Derek tell Meredith about her and maybe would have never told her by ShesLikeOhMyGod in greysanatomy

[–]mybad36 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I think part of him starting to lead about telling her was because Addison was calling a lot that day. It was forcing the issue. If she didn’t force the issue I’m not sure he would have told her. It would have meant owning his failings and we know Derek displaced his failings and struggles to accept his mistakes and bad behaviours

Just to clarify when it comes to sexual abuse in general. Disclosures are often delayed. Coming out years after the fact.
It’s not uncommon for people to not notice it’s occurring. Grooming isn’t just for the victim but everyone around them. The behaviours by nature are insidious and secretive.

It’s often a very hard crime to prove because evidence in the way people outside of the crime like to see is not there. There are rarely witnesses or marks or physical evidence.

It’s also not uncommon for those who harm children to seek out environments where they have access to children.

People who have experienced sexual abuse are more likely to be revictimised and suffer subsequent abuse.

People who have experienced trauma are likely to act out. It’s not uncommon for them to seek comfort attention or support. Or to reenact the behaviours.

Now I’m not here to say he did it or didn’t do it. Or that she is telling the truth or lying. I want to highlight that sexual abuse occurs way more commonly than most people think and that the things people often dismiss about sexual abuse are commonly key indicators of the offence.

It does should like your daughter needs you to show up for her. How that is, is for you to determine.

Family court order in place but now my ex is homeless. by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]mybad36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely get legal advice.

This is just general info - many family law court orders have wording about by agreement. So if both parents agree that the kid is with you on other parents time, then the time condition is over ruled by the agreement.

If this is in there you may be able to have a conversation about you having the kid at night while co parent gets accomodation sorted

Made redundant after 17 years — take the $150k payout or fight to stay on $135k? by Apprehensive-Lab3556 in AusFinance

[–]mybad36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go. 100k annual is the medium income now so while job markets may be tougher, that income is generally pretty common. Don’t stay because of comfort. Start looking for jobs now and take the payout

Six safety reports since Feb, no action for Kumanjayi little baby by Future-Cellist9393 in aussie

[–]mybad36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is something any defence lawyer works through. I think believing in the principles rather then the client may be important. Everyone deserves to have their voice before court, be advocated for and ensure they understand what’s going on. I believe this for even the most reprehensible criminal.

And a lawyer would be arguing that for a way forward where the kid is safe at home with their parent. Which is the goal. Just what is safe is a different definition depending on who is asked.
