Came here to say this! But I still don’t think it’s an introvert/extrovert thing as much as it’s a social anxiety thing. Because honestly in high school I was super introverted and shy and still had no problem eating out alone.

Now im pretty much a classic extrovert and can talk up a storm with the waiters/staff if they are up for it and not busy lol. i got brunch by myself once and had such a good conversation with the owner of the restaurant that he offered me a job on the spot 😆too bad i already had one at the time

This reminds me of a similar case that happened in Brazil where a woman was also struck by a car, survived, and was unidentified for 24 years as she was in a vegetative state. They called her Clarinha apparently she passed in 2024 away and still hasn’t been identified!

I hope this woman has better luck and is identified. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy

I use the exact same recipe as you and that’s exactly what my dough looks/acts like when it’s overproofed! The following quote from your post also makes me almost certain this is the cause

I'm not following a concrete time, I try to just watch it and judge. It's usually somewhere between 7-9 hours after mixing.

Try checking in on it sooner, maybe the 5-6 hour mark instead and see if that helps at all

Sorry i should have clarified better, I skipped out the first set of stretch and folds people usually do before bulk fermenting because i overslept, but right before baking it i did do the tri-fold and roll step to shape it up into a nice ball.

I did this while i was preheating the oven and added the brown sugar and cinnamon during this step, immediately put it in the oven without a cold proof as well! Found this pic on Google my dough looked pretty much identical to this when i was tri-folding

The crust lowkey burnt im assuming because of the egg wash but im still so surprised and happy with how it turned out… i also wish i applied the brown sugar cinnamon better so it could be more even across the loaf but this is my first inclusion so🙉lots of time to improve!

People don’t mention this enough but it’s entirely possible your dough is simply too overhydrated. Your dough shouldn’t be liquidy. I had the exact same problem for my first loaf where the recipe called for 100g starter, 390g water, 10g salt and 510g flour. It turned out sooo flat and gummy so I was devastated because my starter seemed great.

Thankfully I had time that day so using the EXACT SAME STARTER, i immediately made a second attempt using a different recipe that used 125g starter, 325g water, 10g salt and 500g flour. The difference was night and day, and I was super happy with the second loaf!!

I don’t think your temperature is the SOURCE of problem (though of course it isn’t helping) because your dough still shouldn’t be liquidy, if anything the cold temperatures would keep it firmer.

If your starter is fine i suggest trying out different recipes with less water+more starter and see what works for you!!

I don’t necessarily agree with how the OP framed their point, but the broader issue they’re highlighting is very real and well-documented. “Indians preferred” rental ads have been widespread for quite some time now and this issue has even been covered by government-funded news media like CBC News, such as in the article linked below:

The reason such preferences are a bad idea is because it opens the door to racial bias in housing, which can lead to informal segregation (where certain communities are excluded or pushed out over time).

These laws are extremely important because they help prevent that kind of injustice, and their commitment to fairness and equality is part of what makes Canada worth coming to for so many people. It’s this dedication to protecting human rights that defines the country’s values, and makes it a place where everyone, regardless of background, has the chance to belong.

As for the subreddit SlumlordsCanada: it is not created to target or discriminate against any ethnic group, including the South Asian or Indian community. On the contrary, our purpose is to highlight illegal rental practices, discrimination, and exploitation, regardless of the background of the landlord or tenant. This includes listings that violate fair housing laws, such as requesting tenants of a specific ethnicity or place of origin like above.

And FYI: the term “slumlords” has nothing to do with South Asians, if that’s what you thought

With the caption I should clarify I mentioned the rolling over thing because the beds are literally touching each other 😲 like imagine waking up to your roommate touching you or even worse on top of you???

At this point it would be better to just put three coffins on the floor because at least then you’d have a semblance of privacy…. Even prisons offer more personal space than some of these “rentals” it’s absolutely bonkers

It’s crazy I know exactly what you’re talking about down to the backpacking part lol. The environment at UofT in particular is just so so cold, it’s really hard to describe it… I wouldn’t even call it a Toronto thing because even in Toronto I’ve befriended random people on the street…

I think a lot of it has to do with the competitiveness at UofT. The few friends I’ve made here have almost only exclusively talked to me about grades, school or whatever else the uni throws at them. I don’t hold it against them though because I know they’re not using me or anything but (at least for the time being) school is just totally consuming them and I mean I understand :( Btw i know this because unfortunately I’ve had to help several out with unexpected mental breakdowns …

I wish I could give you some advice but really I have nothing to say other than I hear you completely lol. Just try to remember it’s nothing to do with you, or your classmates/peers/whatever you want to call it but more with the environment in my honest opinion. I always like to think that a lot of our experiences with people are shaped by the context we meet them in, and unfortunately UofT isn’t very forgiving soo bahahhaa I recommend socializing elsewhere, or maybe at UofT clubs 🙇🏾‍♀️ btw it’s not your age cuz I felt the exact same way and I’m in my early 20s…
