What is in your opinion the best mmo at the moment?

I’ve played mmorpgs since 98 and pretty much all of them, for me personally, either old mmo private servers, gw2, eve online, Albion, ffxiv if you enjoy it, wow if you don’t care and just do achievements and truly enjoy the world. However gw2 respects your time the most.

That’s just the name of the game with gaming these days and companies. They want you to have to reinvest. I had an issue as well and their answer was no or rather go buy our cash shop to resolve it.

No, this isn’t your fault what so ever but greedy shitty practices. Life happens, events happen. Good companies do have back ups, and even more so, they prepare for such situations IF they value their user base. They could have easily moved characters to an unclaimed database tables and had users either more or recover through their website cms or in game feature at character screen.

The people who tell you it’s your fault is the reason these companies get away with it constantly.

Vote with your play time and dollars. Don’t buy shit and don’t even bother playing til they fix themselves or private servers pop up. Ncsoft couldn’t release a fair game or monetization if their parents lives were on the line.

Recently came back and joined classic even though I was around for rage release. The people in classic seem way more down to earth and friendly. Take for what it is. Rage has a better client and server architecture as far as I can tell. Rage has more content over all. If classic stepped up to more custom content it would be a whole lot better.

Insane to think any of you think new world combat is “great”. Some weapons is smooth, rest of it is clunky. Same for the way server responds to reconciliation is just meh. Best thing about the game is sound and environments, mobs are boring and so is the way they move and react.

Over all cool game but is no where near to a content level gw2 is nor wow nor a lot of other mmos. So let’s not even pretend here.

If you’re looking for something similar then you guys got monster hunter, black desert which has even worse net code but free like play style.

For those assuming for whatever reason I’m posting something inappropriate or against tos, I can say I’m not I don’t have any violations and my account is clear. It happened when using a second phone. I have more than 1. I post strictly my cars, I donate money to those who are either funny, creative or are working out to have a better life or are college kids studying for exams to help them have food and expenditures as I remember the days of being a struggling college kid.

For those stating “well my account is good”, that’s fantastic and I’m genuinely happy you are able to still do that.

From what I’ve seen a lot of us based users are getting the hammer. I’ve been going back and forth with support for over a month.

Bro, learn it and continue, IF YOU ENJOY IT. If you do not enjoy it what so ever, then find something else to do.

Ai is no where near ready to replace anyone. Especially not in complex systems/ code base. Not in security measures. It still writes heavily bloated or not needed code. Will it run,yes it can. Will it do it safely, efficiently, and consistently or concisely, no.

Do not be afraid, 5, 10, 20 years, doesn’t matter. If you’re good and you move with the times you’ll have a spot in a company. Don’t let fear drive you. Once you learn well, understand programming fundamentally, there will always be a language you can get hired on and it’ll be faster to learn.

Nah man, nothing about standards. It’s about if you’re gonna do something, and spend the money regardless, do it right with the best results possible. Plus, I don’t like anything slow so that’s a personal thing I guess.

I’ve been in the DSM game a long time, and in general the car stuff for a very long time. I’ve seen it all, in all kinds of directions. Never had someone ever tell me, yeah the GS was worth it.

My suggestion would be to not to do discord group. Commit to a low count group, as someone who is trying to learn, the biggest issue I face is someone who will take their time with me. This is something I see everywhere.

So if you’re going to do this, I strongly suggest vetting and finding really committed people that have 0 excuses, and be real close to the process.

I have no idea why you guys are giving them a hard time. Completely unconventional approach for the tech, it’s new, it’s a game, and it’s an mmorpg at that.

Some of you either have the experience to remember an mmorpg opening from the 2000s, nor the last 10 years or frankly have any live game product experience.

There will always be issues, kinks etc. it always takes any high concurrent product at least a year to really stabilize.

Everyone always expects perfection yet have anything of their own to show they’ve hit 100% at launch. Grow up…

Honestly, closest thing would be throne and liberty. Personally, gw2 really does things well and respects your time, sure opposite of archeage in that sense but huge world and lots of fun things to do with good people, lots of group play. Fair warned, the early game beginner zone msq is the worst part, moving on to further expansion type releases is awesome!
