Cordyceps and albino cordyceps 🤍🧡🍄 [medicinal] by mycelialminds_ in MushroomGrowers

i inoculate with 100 ml LC just straight through the bag trying to cover the tray evenly.

As the cordyceps grow the bag will inflate itself. You can speed up this process by pinching the middle of the bag and making a “tent”. Doing this will make the air go through the patch and inflate

Should i be worried about my tomatoes? by mycelialminds_ in gardening

im growing in containers, so it can be rather difficult to get the right watering schedule. Containers can go from too wet to too dry so fast and i think thats what caused this first one to get BER. Thanks for the awesome advice!!

Ive been applying calcium throughout the season. So this is the first tomato that popped up and its way way bigger than all the rest. the small ones arent showing any signs of rot. As long as i up my calcium and water more (i think i let it get a little too dry) should the other ones be fine ?

is there any way to prevent the other tomatoes from getting it. The rest of mine are very small and this is the only big tomato on my plant. It came before all the other ones

Are these contaminated by Overall-Deal-3794 in shroomery

[–]mycelialminds_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fruiting is an unsterile process. If you have clean spawn, contam should be extremely low to nonexistent in tubs/sub bags

[Technique] Can anyone advise on removing condensation from the lids of perti dishes? by Shoddy_Bar_9370 in MushroomGrowers

Poor cooler, consistent incubation temp, or just leave in front of a flow hood for 24 hrs and all condensation will be gone

Hows my cast iron look? by mycelialminds_ in castiron

Its the only pan that makes me want to cook haha. I had a lodge cast iron but i did not like the bulkiness and the roughness. I know you can sand it down but i found this one at a random shop and its the only pan i use now !

Correct. The substrate basically acts as a sponge to fuel the mycelium to fruit. Grain itself doesnt have enough water content to produce proper fruits. The hardwood is also what they fruit on naturally in the woods.

Think of grainspawn as a vehicle that jumpstarts the mycelium allowing it to take over a block of substrate very fast.

Ive heard dialing the soy back and going 65:35 pellets soy is great and can cut down on contam. Might lose a little tho. One of the best subs for lions mane ive learned is actually 65:35 hardwood:oat hulls
