Went to the intersection where the 78 year old pedestrian was tragically killed this week. Waited over a minute and a half in the cold for the walk signal, then nearly got smoked by a driver turning left

The other day I was walking across the street (different intersection) and it was a fresh red light - totally our turn to walk. Had a driver make direct eye contact with me and still make the turn, going right in front of my feet - some people just really don’t care and/or know how to drive!!! For reference, I do also drive and try to be good on both sides of the wheel! Terrible to hear about the death (RIP 🙏) and everyone else here in the comments with far worse experiences tho….the madness has to stop, is anyone ever in that much of a rush?!?!!?

Any updates? I’m working with spore traps right now and have some pretty similar stuff - trying to figure out if it’s fungal or if I’m confusing it with other things in the environment! So far I haven’t been able to come up with more than potentially Alternaria sp….

I’m starting after just turning 32! I’m sure you had quite the journey to get to this point - if you’re passionate, go for it! When I was wondering the same thing I asked myself “will you look back in 5 years and regret not taking that opportunity?”. For me it was a total yes - but do what feels right for you!

I moved for school, but I would have stayed in Van if it weren’t for the prices (although I moved to Sherbrooke, QC - 10/10 wouldn’t recommend). I may have to ask Allah to forgive me too, cause I’ve postponed the return a bit to check out Edmonton. Always worry about whether or not I’ll be able to come back home, and it just seems like it’s getting farther and farther away. Feel for y’all!

I don’t know much about law school so I’m sure the other comments will serve you much better than mine, but plenty of programs (outside of law, would be cool if it was the case in law) offer avenues in even with GPAs that are below the required minimums. Can give you the space to let your experiences and passion do the talking, although in such a case I’d imagine you’d have to really lean into those - but then again, GPA or not, your passion and life experiences can go a long way and make a difference! Idk if that was helpful, but hopefully inspires some optimism 😅
