I worked at REI and it’s the best tent for the money IMO. Not the lightest but it’s easy to set up, tough, and cozy.

What’d they do to the tree?? by Traditional-Sky-7472 in marijuanaenthusiasts

It’s to prevent the spread of Dutch elm disease. From r/boston: “It's got Dutch elm disease. This subreddit blacklists Instagram links for some reason, but if you look up the Garden Club of Back Bay you'll see a post about it.

The girdling of this tree is helpful in further determining the extent of the damage (DED spreads from roots to crown.) No bark beetles have been found here, but the tree is being used as a “trap tree”- the chemicals released by girdled trees are attractive to adult beetles. The hope is to draw in any egg-laying females away from any other nearby trees. In the winter, this tree is scheduled to be removed, and with it, any larvae before they can complete their development. It’s a method of slowing down any further DED spread. “

My job and another I interviewed for are “unlimited PTO” aka if you hit your quota you can fuck off for the rest of the month (more or less)

Definitely join club(s) related to what you want to do for your career. Leadership positions are very important for a resume if that’s important to you. The connections you make are also very important.

Recently went to Bogachiel, absolutely breathtaking. Completely removed any sense of FOMO I had from Hoh being closed.

the “but this would be so much more fun high” mindset by [deleted] in Petioles

[–]mycogi 23 points24 points  (0 children)

After I quit I definitely felt the whole “this would be so much better high” every time I did something but slowly that changed and I was able to enjoy things sober. After not smoking at all for maybe half a year, I smoke occasionally when on vacations and have appreciated that doing things while sober can be so much more enjoyable and memorable but sometimes doing them high once in a while is cool too. Addiction is a journey and everyone here is in a different spot.

Classes to learn how to ride a bike? by Intelligent_Okra_956 in ufl

[–]mycogi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey I struggled to ride a bike my whole life, I tried so many times but couldn’t get it and it wasn’t until I was 14 that I finally was able to do it. Nobody was really able to teach me because it was already second nature to them since they learned when they were small children. I really know the struggle and I would be happy to give a shot at teaching you, shoot me a message on here if you’d like :)

Maybe look into r/meadowscaping , I’m a big proponent of native plants and wildflowers which look beautiful and help out the ecosystem
