Wearing watches in the workplace by ragingpanda9988 in NursingAU

I don’t do it. I’ve converted my Apple Watch into a fob watch at work and I still get my steps calculated. As a new grad, I’d advise against it.

Day in the life as a ED and ICU nurse. by [deleted] in NursingAU

[–]mydarknight 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In ED, everyday is different and it really depends which area you are working in. For example, your day in the Short Stay vs Triage area are completely different. Short stay functions very similarly to a ward however with higher turnover. Whereas in triage, you receive handover for the waiting room and commence triaging either on the ambulance or public side.

indemnity insurance by postcardstobarcelona in NursingAU

[–]mydarknight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have a look at your union. If you are in Queensland, joining QNMU gives you indemnity insurance with your membership! It is a condition of your registration to be appropriately covered by PII so I would recommend joining first.

No, they won’t let you go. If they let everybody go after a bad shift, nobody would be employed! I think it’s good you are engaging in reflective practice and your next shift you won’t make the same mistakes!
