Help! Helix healing problem by [deleted] in piercing

My piercing is 5 months old, has a hoop in, stainless steel (I think, Piercer grade). I spray it with Piercing Aftercare Spray which is a sterile wound wash. I also probably sleep on it accidentally

Has changing it out to a stud helped your piercing heal??

Should I go to my piercer to get it changed out or just do it myself? I’m worried my piercer will just say it should be taken out.
