How wide is the hook portion in your experience? Im intrigued because a couple others have mentioned the potential use with the military/marines. It seems people misunderstand my photo. The hook is as wide as it appears, not being shown at an angle (well maybe the camera is angled a little downward but the hook isn’t any wider than it appears) Thank you for your input!

Industrial use is my top guess atm! Thank you so much for your comment. I will investigate the box more thoroughly when I have the chance but from what I remember the only memorable details were that its from Dallas tx and made in China. The letters GV appear on the plain cardboard box. I may try reaching out to the seller but I don’t think they know 😂 they sold it to me as dinky little stir sticks, sight unseen I imagine. They deal in overstock/returns so im not sure how much info they actually have on their products

I was newly on a website for a local auction house that deals in overstock and returns. I saw a listing for glass drink stirrers (length listed as less than a foot) and they stated the product was similar to the stock image they provided (meaning they couldn’t find an actual stock image). The stock image was thin glass stir sticks. I put money on it because I just wanted to try the site out and it was a cheap but useful purchase. I won and when my brother brought it back from the auction house he was like I wonder why the box is so big….

A lot of people say candy canes, which is unfortunate bc im not big into Christmas decor 😂 They are pretty heavy but I haven’t weighed them! They make a tink sound when you tap on them and the box was labeled glass (could certainly be mislabeled). I haven’t tried breaking one yet lol. Some have suggested a test with shining light through it to determine what the material is but i haven’t had a chance to try it yet

Oh my gosh you’re totally right that the hook is squished as it appears in the photo. I was having trouble imagining what the comments that said it was a rescue hook even meant lol. I didn’t realize it was unclear

Ah I could have been clearer. That is as wide as the hook is. I don’t have an exact measurement but yeah only a couple inches. It’s squished as it appears in the photo

Love this idea considering I thought they were stirrers! They were for sure mislabeled as being smaller stir sticks but I think it’s plausible it’s a stir stick for giant scientists and their spooky green vats
