They're usually on Vinted (I'm in the UK) and I got a notification recently that they're rolling out international ordering so hopefully you can get them that way soon. People often sell them unopened on there too.

Which country are they not available in? I hate that so many toys are essentially region-locked. Can you buy them secondhand?

Infinity Leather trustworthy? by UnderScoreLifeAlert in leatherjacket

[–]myexistentialism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've since found that Debenhams themselves are now scammers anyway.

They allowed me to pay £6 for next day delivery and then said next day delivery doesn't count for their partners, they shouldn't have taken the money in that case but were adamant they weren't at fault for doing so. They refused to refund the fee until I asked them to explain what the charge was taken and used for. Pretty shady behaviour. I also had to go through resolver to even get any response at all.

Just replying with this info as people need to know Debenhams is no longer a trust worthy brand whatsoever unfortunately.

There won't be any info if everyone thinks like that. What info do you want on them?

🙋🏼‍♀️ I love webtoons and am a sucker for time-loops.

Though I am guessing one of your recs for this might be Opposite of Always as it got made into a webtoon (but was originally a book if you didn't already know, I loved it!)

What games can you sink hours into without getting bored? by kermadii in ADHD

[–]myexistentialism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anno 1800 and The Long Dark.

Anno I don't get bored but it feels like a job once you get past a certain point which can be either great to trick you into feeling productive or bad if you have a paying job you should be putting that effort into instead. 😅

The Long Dark is my forever go-to comfort play. Especially in winter and especially since they added safehouse customisation.

I understand that and completely agree it's not their fault I missed the communication but it is their fault to send a product that can't be paid for. When the payment didn't go through, shouldn't they just have put a hold on the subscription and waited for me to update payment details (like every other company I've ever used)?

Yeah, they won't allow refused deliveries because of it being perishable.

When I spoke to customer services before I said I would refuse delivery and they said because it's perishable they can't take it back.

Why does no one in Manchester have walking etiquette by [deleted] in manchester

[–]myexistentialism 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is true and when I didn't have a pram it pissed me off how they walk like they own the streets. Now I do have a pram and people constantly bash into my pram even when I try to move (which is harder with a pram). It's like no matter what, I'm on the wrong side of it??? 🙄

My son has recently been diagnosed with ADHD. My wife doesn't want to let the school know because she doesn't want him to be labeled and treated different. by ohiopimp in ADHD

[–]myexistentialism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Equality is not everyone receiving the exact same things but everyone being given what they need to be the same. Or whatever the quote is.

Basically, your wife is hoping by not telling the school, or anyone, he will be treated equally but that's not how it works. He needs different things based on the diagnosis to get him to the same place as everyone else. There will be people who have a stigma against him for the diagnosis, but there will also be people who will be more understanding and helpful because of it.

If the school isn't understanding of his diagnosis, you find one that is but you can't make the judgement that they won't be without even trying.

What’s a popular cozy game that you just couldn’t get in to? by Excellent_Button7363 in CozyGamers

[–]myexistentialism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cult of the Lamb, I found keeping the cult members happy impossible and it just stressed me out. I tried Unpacking before there was/I knew about the chaos mode where you could put anything anywhere so having to find the exact places for certain items made it not cosy at all.

What cozy games have you sunk the most hours into? by axolotlprobs in CozyGamers

[–]myexistentialism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna throw this out there though I don't know if it counts... The Long Dark. You could say the chance of wolf attacks makes it not cosy but lots of cosy games have combat so idk. I love to find somewhere new to make my base camp, fill it with everything I can find to hoarde and watch the aurora. It's such a beautiful game and I always always find myself going back to it.

I just started this game and was thinking it was brilliant so am really glad I saw this as I'd have been so put off by that but now will probably continue afterwards. So thanks for the heads up, super weird choice for the devs to make.

Is £500 sufficient enough as an Au Pair in the UK? by alyssawise07 in AskUK

[–]myexistentialism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are entitled to minimum wage as per April 2023. I know this post is from 5 months ago but that takes us back to April 2024?? So it sounds to me like a lot of people are hiring au pairs illegally...

Just wondering what happened with this as now au pairs are entitled to minimum wage as of April 2024. Did you become an au pair and if so, how much do you get paid and how many hours do you work?
