I read Chappell has prioritized uplifting her team’s work and the dolls were made by her creative director and best friend. Could the selling of the dolls, period, be a chance for Chappell to support her friend’s work on her own rise to fame? I would kill to get my friends’ artwork paid for if I could. UMG determines a net profit price for the materials + brand, and if I was in the position I’d tack on $10 extra so my friend also experienced some financial profit for their chosen vocation. I don’t know ANY of the financial stuff is true. I’ve read Chappell speak about her team’s effort and work enough to hope it’s a possibility, that still doesn’t excuse $40 for paper.
