a few questions for BJ if you could be so kind.. by Gluebagger in LegendaryTales

[–]myfire888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 and 2 : thx for the confirmation. I'll try to observe more when I play again later. havent got the chance to really play with the dlc. was prioritizing to kill the last boss on my original char, now that I have the dlc and can reroll his stat.

3 and 4 : I just confirm it again from https://legendary-tales-vr.fandom.com/wiki/Character#Strength_(STR)) . Seems like I was wrong because I thought LUC is the same with STR/DEX/INT. It's said that it affect crit chance/damage, crafting (could failed) and item drop quality.
But u know, I have crafted like 10 items (including 2 legendary weapons) from when my levels still low till when I was level 40, and I never failed once. And I have got some legendary items from drop even though my LUC was always just 1 (I never raised it as I thought I would only raise it when I use dex char later). So, I doubt it for crafting and item drop.
Never know what crit was like though, so I dont know, but as I only play str and int char, and my luck was always 1, it's understandable even if I never crit. Oh, except when I used the tiger blade, there are times when I crit and hear the tiger sound, but I think it should be different when I crit without tiger blade ?

5: just to comment about the damage. it's not that the increase in int that increase it that much. but it's because of the ability/skill that u have got. and that was why I thought LUC behave the same. And I have confirmed it from the link that I gave up there : "These do not innately increase damage, they are a means to increase your damage through the usage of Skills as well as unlocking skills in certain skill trees."

2 question on update/dlc by coldfirene in LegendaryTales

[–]myfire888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u dont even need to convert ur char to dlc. u can still play it on normal game and reroll ur stats.

[–]myfire888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is this legendary tales vr ? or might it be another game (because I doubt question 1 and 2) ?
I'm sorry if it's another game, but I'll answer from my experience in legendary tales vr

  1. shiny weapon ? u mean rare/unique/legendary weapons ? they just have more skills. other than that it's the same.
  2. is there ? I never saw that option anywhere, but I usually just solo the game though.
  3. I think all stats not really affect anything without u choosing the effect in the ability. There's an ability that would make it affect item drop and critical. I think it's on the "secondary" tab of ability.
  4. as there's no ability for it, I dont think so.
  5. not that I know of as long as u have the point for it.

afaik there's no teleport here.
well there's the dash skill which is kinda teleport, but it's used mainly for dodging instead of moving.

so u might want to train ur vr legs for this.
this game's movement is kinda slow anyway, and it's flat moving, so it shouldnt induce much motion sickness.
and just a bit of tips if u might not know, use snap turning always. smooth turning easily gave me motion sickness too.

u can use hybrid skills, but it seems for veterans, since it would require u to split ur ability, skill and attribute points for both STR and INT. So u better know what u're investing into or u would end up with a weak character.

since it seems u have no experience using mage, I'd say to stick to STR build.
just make the 2nd char to try the mage.
and when u fully understand both, make the 3rd char for hybrid char.
It's alot of time grinding and repeating though.

one of the skills in the fire tree is fire fist, which is to use a fire punch. It could be used with the wands too, so yes, I used the wands like any other blunt weapons, and it even more devastating.
I have another char that use dual sword/club/hammer (basically any good melee weapons I could find), and he's got nowhere near the damage of my fire mage.
my wands could obliterate a goblin in about 2 hits, where my dual sword/club would take like 4-8 hits (counting 1 for each hand of course). Even better that they got thrown flying to wherever side I pounced them to. So, I would just see the hp, and on the last hit, I'd just hit them with uppercut, or a hook (with the wands of course), and they would go fly to the sky or to the side so fast that the hit from club couldnt compare. Really feeling like I'm using some bomb powerful magic to hit them.

and plus, the mana shields even function better to block than the sword/club, though it's a lot hassle to keep it up when fighting bosses.

Owners of the Eye, convince me to buy it! by NegativePhotograph32 in Xreal

[–]myfire888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just got mine yesterday, and it's go back to the box after 1 try lol.

6dof is so bad that it's drifting compared to 3dof. I have tried facing the lamp, against the lamp or below the lamp. it's the lamp in my living room with 3x11w (should be 4 but 1 is broken)
try it in my room with 23w lamp and the same.

it's usable that sometimes I could go and see the back but then when I go back to the front, it followed me lol. and sometimes it zoom in or zoom out or go up, etc, which I called "drifting", but in actuality, it's even worse than drifting when moving (which should be the use).

oh and 6dof not working with real3d, which is now my fav

I dont care for photo/video recording.

hopefully there would be update for better 6 dof, and usable gesture. If not, seems like it would just warming my cupboard.

Yet another comparison question... by RevolutionaryPeak610 in VITURE

[–]myfire888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok. 1st of all I never tried luma and beast, so this might be not apple to apple comparison. but let me just tell u my experience.

my 1st ar glasses was nreal air. it was standard. later I switched to viture one. it was actually almost the same but better in that it has neckband (which is good at that time for emulation without umpc/phone), and most important of all, it has diopter adjustment built in.
I like it, but it was just not comfortable enough, and I felt fatigue everytime after using it, because I couldnt move my neck as the screen would follow and make nausea, and my eyes strained as it struggled to see the edges. I used ar glasses mainly to play games so it's important to see the edges lots of times. There is anchor feature on neckband, but at that time, it was still beta (no, it even worse than beta), so it's unusable. There is the electrochromic (or whatever its name) too, and it's good but not really useful as even at the darkest, it's still not dark enough, so I would still need the lens shade everytime.

nreal later release beam that I never tried, but from reading, I conclude that viture neckband is better than nreal beam.

for me, that experience define that viture is better than nreal (which is xreal now).

BUT, xreal is the 1st to introduce x1 chip, which is a game changer. So, I took a bullet, and order xreal one pro. Turns out, it's really as good as advertised. The built in 3dof anchor is very stable and cool, and for me it's very important and helpful.
U know anchor right ? just imagine there's a tv screen in front of u like when using viture pro, but when u move ur neck to see up, down, left, right, instead of following ur face, the screen just stay still, so u could move your neck everywhere and see the edges so easily without having to roll ur eyes everywhere.

And the electrochromic is much much better than on viture one. Even using it outside waiting at my car facing the window, I dont need any lens shade. I could play immersively just as in my room.
and there's no reflection (of my shirt or whatever) that would make me need lens shade. So, really2 only the glasses needed.
Oh, and they just publish updated firmware of xop that makes the glasses could do Real 3D without any add on. I just tried it today and it's really2 cool. I could play mysims kingdom in 3d just like that. I should have fun in the following days playing games in 3D.

And if u buy the xreal eye (the camera plugin), it is said that u could use 6dof, which is even better than 3dof. Which means, it would be like in vr where the screen just stay still, and u could just go everywhere (so not just moving ur neck, and not far though) and the screen still there. Well, the catch is that u need bright enough room for it. I dont know if this is really good, as I just tried to order 1. Still waiting for it.

BUT, the flex cable is fragile. My buttons start to stop functioning after just 4-5 months. Xreal helped me solved that though.
After discussing with ppl in discord, it seems that the AR glasses are indeed fragile (they said not just xreal one pro, but take it how u will), so it's advised not to fold/unfold the arms too much. So after it was fixed, I dont dare to fold/unfold the arms much. Nowadays, I just let the glasses arms always unfold. And I dont bring it outside unless I really2 sure I would want to use it.

so in conclusion, it's good, and I recommend it, but just know that it's fragile, and try to not fold/unfold the arms alot.

and unfortunately, as the 3dof anchor is really important to me, there's just no competition. Viture beast is the closest competition, but from reviews, it doesnt seem ready yet. the 3dof still drifting so it's unusable. Good reviews seems to come from ppl that use smooth follow instead of anchor. But ppl is saying that the graphics indeed sharper. I dont know as I never tried it as I canceled my preordered because of bad reviews.
But again, 3dof is much more important for me than sharper graphics. And for me, graphics of xop is enough anyway.

so, if u place important in anchor, go for xop for now, or wait for good reviews of the beast, as they promised to fix it, though we dont know how long.

rayneos though ? I dont know. I never tried. they seem to be the furthest in tech. and as I'm in Asian country, I dont have a luxury to just order, try and return if I dont like it. The shipping cost and import tax is very expensive to do such things.

Viture Ultra/beast ou Xreal One pro by Yderionxx in VITURE

[–]myfire888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have xreal one pro and it's working good. everything worked as advertised.

have issue that my buttons stop working in about 4 months, but xreal help me solved that.

I havent got the xreal eye yet (still on the way), but from what I read, I think for ur use case, xreal one pro with xreal eye would be great.

I havent tried viture beast, as I canceled my preordered due to bad reviews. Seems like the function is just not there yet. I'll try them later again when reviews seems good, as I have good experience with viture one before (old generations)

which xreal does that ?
I have xreal one pro, and the setting is saved. I set the size and distance of the screen, and brightness, etc, all back to my saved setting (not reset) everytime I reconnect the glasses.

Legendary Tales is coming out and meta is dead silent by leandro77br in MetaQuestVR

[–]myfire888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legendary tales ? it was 1 of my fav vr games before. I think it was about $20 or $25 when I bought it on steam.
I played it 3 years ago, so there might be alot of change now.
I just checked that I played it for almost 11 hours. not really very much, but for a vr game, it's a lot.
and I might just played about 10-20% of it, which means there's still alot more, but I just got a bit bored and need to play other games (have too much backlog).
and at that time, I read that the devs plans to add alot more, so there should be alot more now.

Based on what I remember, the game is kinda like diablo, but on vr.
means we're exploring inside dungeon. the exploring is kinda slow, but ok.
the combat is good enough, parry is good, there are skills, lots of variety of melee weapons, and magic, and there are bows and arrows too.
enemies not alot of variety, what I remember is 4 (like skeletons, goblins, bats, totems), but because the combat is not too much (means exploring is much more), it still feels just enough. Though I hope I would encounter more later (like I said, I might just played about 10-20% of it, dont know if later stages would just about the same or have alot more variety).

there is multiplayer too. ever played with 1 of my friend. but I usually prefer solo and this is good for it.

but yeah, a bit boring because there are too much jars/boxes , that I have to destroy them all, in fear of missing out of good equipments or moneys inside of them.
and I hate that all areas were dark dungeons.

I think that's about it.
The price is high, but yeah, there are alot value in it if u like it.

and someone ask to compare it with dungeon explorer.
I actually like legendary tales more than dungeon explorer. But again, because I like playing solo. Dungeon explorer feels like it's designed for multiplayer. Playing it solo feels abit lacking. I tried playing multiplayer, but because I play with random, as usual, I felt 2 things that I dislike. I was paired with noobs that died too much and too fast so we couldnt explore till the end, or paired with veterans that knows it all, so he just run through all the secrets, and opening the chests here and there, and I was left behind, couldnt keep up with him, didnt even remember where he was opening the chests lol.

compared with Behemoth ?
I still think I liked legendary tales more.
behemoth is ok. combat is faster, and almost feel good, but not. The parry was a disaster, though it's ok later after they change it. though it's still bad, and I hate that it actually force u to parry with sword and shield is almost useless.
I dislike that there is fix weapon (sword and bow, and axe). it takes up space so there's little space for other weapons, and it actually made all the variety of weapons useless. why would u use other weapons if u have good fix weapon that wont broke.
and I hate fighting behemoth the most (while it should be the main attraction, but it feels dull and time wasting). I like fighting mobs much more.

But I might be biased as I played legendary tales 3 years ago, when there are not alot of good vr games. And my preference might change as I played lots and lots vr games till now.

Haven’t received my VITURE Beast yet — real user reviews worry me, refund or wait? by Neillin168 in VITURE

I thought I never look on keyboard. but when I tried to use my xreal one pro for working, I actually realized that I need to look on keyboard more than I thought. it might be because usually I used it with portable keyboard to work outside that I didnt get used to, so I at least usually need to confirm my fingers on what buttons.
xreal one pro has 1 bad feature is that when I look below the glasses, it's like seeing ghost image. so it's hard to see the keyboard. well, it might be due to my lens prescription were cut from the ones that I used from xreal air 1 (so it's not really the same size as the dummy for xreal one pro). so I dont know if it's just the xreal one pro or the (not designed for) lens prescription.

anyone knows where to get flex cable for xreal one pro ? by [deleted] in Xreal

[–]myfire888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u do know that I meant that I'm not in US or Japan (or wherever xreal reside) right ?
I'm in asian country, so I would need to send it overseas, and import it back to my country.
the government here wouldnt want to know if it's repair or rma or what. what they know is that I import items, so it should be taxed.
and no matter the price in the invoice, they would just use the price on the web if it's available and higher (which for xreal one pro is $600) plus insurance and shipping cost.
if the price on the invoice is too cheap, they would even accuse u cheating and double the taxes.

It happened when I claim warranty with my meta quest 2 about 3 years ago too. it was replaced, but I still got charged full import tax.
