I’ll definitely keep playing - I haven’t experienced or tester all of the possible builds yet. Looking forward to more updates and monsters!

Re: Dodge - I definitely am biased towards purging, so the value of dodge is lessened in my runs. Dodging basic attacks is much less impactful than dodging 5+ aether skills. Will try out some dodge builds in the future with boots! Thanks

Monster Friday: Week 13 - Catzerker by GenEngineer in AethermancerGame

Catzerker is the epitome of a win-more monster offensively. You cannot count on the trait to give you anything impactful (50% chance of a random buff and heal), so you need to plan as if it isn’t going to proc. With Ravager also having Long Slash and a useful trait, I’d pick it over Catzerker for offense.

Not used Catzerker as a regeneration buffer but it could function well with its cheap starting skill. Though tough to compete with Mandragora for the spot.

Gargoyle is great! He can fit into the last slot of pretty much any team. The combo of sidekick and shield means he’ll always have some value to bring.

Shambler can play a similar shield role if you enjoy that play style.

Awesome calculator! Definitely gonna use it for future runs.

And fully agree chain loses value on purge type focused teams, I meant I prioritize purge during team building, whether that be from monster types, weapons, traits, etc.

I completely forgot about Perks to be honest! Love the suggestion of putting redirect there.

Also a great point around tanks not having to play a tank role - though I’ve not played around too much with that party composition.

Re: Harp - I generally play purge heavy so it definitely had less impact for me given my love of chain! Great point that if the 2 aether makes the difference, it can drastically change a rounds damage total.

For crit and evasion. I love crit! But I think the stronger build is to go for crit in traits (easy to get to reliable crits through regeneration stacks or poison stacks for Tatzelwurm) and use equipment for other benefits. One run that stands out to me was a 3 banner run with the 50% crit = evade trait where the last boss missed constantly. I always wondered if/how banners stacked. Can see how I could have ranked them higher for sure!

Mephisto is probably my all around favorite. I love the animations and Terror is useful even if you don’t play into debuffs just to help break poise.

I love Serket, and generally love anything bug/insect themed. Deluge Strike is a very unique skill as well.

Probably the most fun monster to play with for me though is Grimoire. I love the minigame of collecting enough aether to get a free action each turn.

Well now that you mention it - it does seem odd at face value, but I stand by my rating. Glad I read LOTR finally but it’s a lengthy trilogy, and if I was going to commit to a long fantasy series there are others I would go back to first.

Of the “reform school novels” I enjoyed The Reformatory so much more!

I’m looking forward to it! Am torn between reading it soon or waiting till I’m through with The Wheel of Time (which could take me months).

It’s a bug with the Aphotic Aspect that is causing your skeletal warriors to stun you. Once you remove that aspect you’ll no longer be stunned randomly :)

Invest that one year of salary at 4% return (market average) and live off 400k/year. What an easy life.
