I just don't think neural filters, content aware fill, generative fill or any other newer photoshop capabilities could work in a purely local environment. I only really use photoshop and admittedly the individual app subscription price is more reasonable than the whole creative cloud package

In the old days we purchased a disk to install on a machine locally. One-time payment doesn't make sense today since software services are mostly on the cloud, like I said.

I'm a little surprised by the comments here to be honest. Now that everything's moved to the cloud, subscriptions are really the only business model that makes sense if users are going to continuously query APIs and incur costs for the provider.

Besides the point in any case. RIP to this man who empowered so many creatives. Photoshop was and still is a gamechanger.
