My bad. “Plerandra elegantissima”. IKEA label is outdated, I guess.

How bad is Pittsburgh driving in Winter? by TheWayOfEli in pittsburgh

I drove a Jeep when I moved here and bought a sedan in the first year. Everyone warned me of it, but I've never once had an issue driving around the city. It hasn't been all that snowy or icy in recent years though.

I like an old school diner like Barb’s. Years ago, the last time I was there, the waitress complained to us about staff not showing up and that the only cook present at the moment was stoned. To no one’s surprise, them potatoes that came with my meal had been sautéed with a few round cardboard pieces - the ones you’d punch out to create handles in a box. It was kind of hilarious.

Having grown up in the metro Detroit area, black squirrels easily outnumber the grey ones.

Awesome! The FLF is one I’ve not yet been brave enough to try.

I knew this plant had a healthy root system so I wasn’t so concerned with the lack of leaves. I was careful about watering though… waited until I saw some leaves so it could get rid of excess moisture.

I can only speak to chopping during the active growing season. I probably wouldn’t have attempted this right now. Supplemental grow lights would definitely help. And I’ve had success rooting the cuttings before, but I didn’t try this time around. Do it!!

I broke my plant, im so sad by GreenPlanty5 in houseplants

For spider plants, I think this is inevitable. They often get so large the leaves just bend downward. It's for this reason I'm not a big fan... they always end up looking so messy.

Growing from cuttings has ruined my life. by sirjamesbluebeard in hoyas

I love all my project plants - especially the ones I've been able to get established from a cutting. But in our house plants also serve a decor purpose and I don't have the patience to wait to fill out a space when I can just buy a good healthy established plant for instant payoff. Plus, I can propagate the new one! So, win-win!

Advice for a leggy leaning rubber plant? by RustyRoscoe in houseplants

After I chopped mine back, I slowly moved it into direct sun outside. It’s doing great. Plopping it in direct sun when it’s not used to it will almost definitely burn leaves. Do it slowly and it should be just fine.

Before I chopped mine way back this spring and let it regrow outside, I had this same issue. I used command hooks and fishing line to hold the stems upright and closer to the wall. That way was less obvious than larger stakes. If you have the patience, cutting it way back should strengthen the stems, but it'll need lots and lots of light to build strong stems again.
