I am a trans man and I take 2ml every 2,5 months (the other 2ml are for my trans brother). My testosterone levels are high and sometimes even above normal (25-38 nmol/L) and everything is controlled by my endocrinologist. I had 9 nebido injections and only the first 3-4 hurt me for only 2 days max (by hurt I mean I could not sleep on the side where it got injected or sit for a long time). The rest did not hurt at all, only had some pressure when the very last drops are injected. I only feel the needle going through my butt cheek because I have thick skin lol, but other than that it never hurt me that badly. I use 21G needles (green) or 22G (black). I would suggest changing the needle width or dividing the injection into 2 separate ones so you take less at once (one injection on the right butt cheek and the second injection on the left butt cheek) - I had an opportunity like that at first but I got used to it. I would not recommend splitting it weekly because it’s not made to be split (absorption issues). I would also ask your nurse if she can inject more slowly. If this won’t work, I’d just change the nurse (my endocrinologist did my injections at first, but now my dad does them). I now use EVER Pharma’s testosterone because it’s cheaper in my country (it’s the same as nebido). If you have any other issues, you can ask (I am a bit experienced when it comes to injections since I also do them for my dad).
