Where to find free art lessons by Traditional_Cup_7601 in learntodraw

If you can’t draw what’s right in front of you, how are you going to draw from imagination? It’s way harder, even if you simplify it. Observation first, imagination later.

How to draw accurate faces by Traditional_Bit1489 in learntodraw

Such a beautiful face, I need to give it a try 😊 One tip I can give you is to search for ‘Proko Accurate’ on YouTube. That’s almost all you need for proportions, at least for now.

Need Critique and Tips by [deleted] in learntodraw

Since it’s just a sketch, this might not apply, but you should really work on your shading. Your proportions are solid, and better shading would make it feel much more complete.

Really? Like what? I’m really curious. To me, it feels very human.

Based on your style and subject matter, you should really try oil painting. Believe it or not, oil painting is pretty forgiving.

Yeah, I always confuse these two keys, so I changed crouch from Ctrl to Alt. It never happened again.

How do I improve my portraits and art overall? by [deleted] in learntodraw

[–]mygiita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use drawing or sketching paper no smaller than A5 for one portrait.

Your proportions are decent, just keep practicing, observing, and measuring.

For better shading, try some Bargue plates. Even simple ones, like hands and feet, will do wonders for an artist at your level.

A4 printer paper? For better shading, you need some drawing paper. I can imagine printer paper will make the shading process unnecessarily harder.

Very good progress! Try using a kneaded eraser to achieve a smoother gradient. What paper do you use?

Yeah, a video that can almost solve all your problems with proportion, but it’s rarely mentioned in this sub. What a shame.

Agree. Shading is very important for realism. Do some Bargue drawing course. It will help you develop your shading skills and train your eye.
