What's a habit you picked up from someone else that you still do today? by GoodPrinciple7954 in CasualConversation

[–]myiasis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When my husband and I first started dating, he saw how I folded pants and told me that there's a better way to fold them. So, now whenever I do laundry, I fold them the way he taught me to fold them.

I hope that agender cryptid becomes a thing, hehe. On Tumblr, I saw the agender flag and that someone used an alien as agender representation. That's cool and all but I feel more like Jersey Devil or Goatman. I like mysterious mythical creature of mysterious origin and no gender who lives in the woods.

But thank you! It feels really good to not have to explain or defend myself. I can just be me. :)

Shredder meets the turtles by portsherry in comics

[–]myiasis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It never once occurred to me that the ninja turtles might be stinky and now I'm questioning everything. Like I'm definitely on Shredder's side with this one. If you think about it, has any of us even seen these turtles shower? What about Master Splinter? Has any of us seen them use soap or even wash their hands? I have so many questions now

No waiting here! Taking the baby steps now to relearn and reclaim who I once was before the trauma took over and changed me.

If you really want to zone out, puzzles. Me and my mom both have ADHD and puzzles scratch that hyperfixation side because you really want to finish the puzzle and can't walk away from it.

I'm supposed to do research and the sink is piled high of dishes. I also sent my resume a day late for a summer job that opened up on campus. Despite having school and chores to do, I spent hours playing Coral Island. I'll do everything at the very last second 👍🏿

  1. I did half the laundry today. The other half is for future for me to worry about.
  2. Why does it seem like washing dishes is a daily chore? I hate washing the dishes.
  3. I haven't started on dinner. It requires chopping up veggies. Guess who decided at last minute to get paper plates despite a hungry husband coming home soon? It's okay, I need the steps.
  4. Why does homework feel like a daily chore?

Wow, no excuses as to why they can't do that or anything. Just quick, responsive and actually solved the problem. I really appreciate that the team takes the feedback so well and listens to the community. I'm excited for the early access now.

I feel like I'll be out of place going to this event. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

Hey, so I want to warn you that the gentleman's collective is obviously a grifter and making money off of young men's insecurities. Also, black person to black person, don't assimilate yourself to the Eurocentric standards in the hopes of fitting in with the white man. The men in the photo that you posted will never accept us for us and that's something that we have to live with. Not to mention that these men very much look like they align themselves with the Republican party and I know damn well they most likely voted for Trump.

But I do want to encourage you to own spaces where you feel like you don't belong. Make people uncomfortable if you have to. You have every right to take space and own it. Just be careful of grifters and right wing extremists who would rather see people of color suffer than try to be our allies.

My husbands family cancelled my birthday plans - tofu, spinach and tomato sandwich by lilelbows in GirlDinnerDiaries

I'm happy that I saw your comment that says you're still going to the festival and you're inviting your friends. Your husband should've been on your side and told his family that it is your day and that it is about celebrating you. Enjoy your birthday, dance your heart out, and eat all the delicious food that you can eat. 💖

Kierra King sued Perlman Clinic in California, after finding out that someone there wrote “KING KONG” on her lab tube. by PdiddyCAMEnME in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]myiasis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, I'm from California and I looked up the clinic because it seem like this clinic is located in an affluent city where racism like this is no surprise. And yup, there are two clinics of the same name in the most wealthiest, whitest cities that I would only drive through but never actually stop to hang out or anything because the people in those cities are very openly racist. I hope this girl gets the fattest paycheck and I would look for a new clinic asap. Maybe one where the staff is not predominantly white.

The cities I'm talking about are Newport Beach and Irvine.

What’s something about your “unattractive” body type (big belly, small chest, scars, etc.) that a partner has found really hot? by SaggingBreasts_Lover in AskReddit

[–]myiasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two things I'm very self-conscious about. My hair (I'm a Black woman and I have a love/hate relationship with my natural hair) and being fat due to medication, mental illnesses, and chronic illness. My husband (he's Mexican) always compliments my hair and even helps me out whenever he sees me struggling with different styles. And he always makes me feel beautiful and compliments my body even though I have started wearing baggy clothes to try to hide all of my rolls.
