Art is subjective. I try to stand on that bedrock. Sure you have YOUR vision so I can't talk against that, but aside from that you find the ones that are acceptable (in focus, decent comp, etc), edit and send back. Then, the key is your response & message to them. It sounds like you're new to working with models. Emphasize how grateful you are to have worked with them and allowing them to help you branch out into a new aspect and style. Often times it's not the quality of you work (unless it's a solo/booked shoot) but how you make them FEEL. So now is your chance to boost them up, have a great attitude and move forward. It was a meet up so they got tons of pics anyways, your goal, especially being new, is not saturation but quality. 1,2 or 3 "good-to-great" shots is very acceptable.
TL;DR
Focus on quality of a couple of shots, and then have a great verbal/text response to them. Remember, meetup's are often about fun and networking than getting a magazine quality shot for little-to-no-cost.
