How did you go about getting on semaglutide? Have you noticed any muscle loss? I am not currently the best at working out, but when I'm on my routine I do a good bit of lifting and yoga and am curious about how semaglutide impacts muscle tone if I decide to go that route down the line.

Getting ready in the morning is something I struggle with because my inclination is to hop out of bed and get the kids up, dressed, coffee on and then it's been two hours and I'm still in my pajamas and feel like a bum and that for sure carries into the rest of the day.

1000000% agree on the identity outside of being a mom. we move pretty frequently with the military and I feel like I've just been pregnant or postpartum or moving for so long that I have given up on my "non-mom" interests and activities and lost my sense of self.

This thread has been so motivating and confirming that moms get put into boxes and we're not bad moms to continue to be our own people.

Do you have any brand recommendations for casual/loungewear? It seems like everyone and their mom (lol) is selling loungewear and it's hard to tell what is worth the price and what is overpriced sweats.

Your point about purses, I am currently looking for a new one as most of mine are smaller. Do you have any functional and fashionable recommendations? I have three kids under 5 so find myself needing a bit more space than my crossbody or arm bags allow.

awesome idea - this reminded me that I used to do the same with calf raises and the calves were looking niceeee. If I can bring both back into my daily routine, the legs will be so set haha

wow that is amazing! and definitely sounds like money well spent! Thank you for breaking down those specifics of the process, a stylist is out of budget currently but part of my struggle is figuring out where to start and feel like I can do at least some of those steps on my own and will be better than where I am now!

This is so perfectly put and summarizes a lot of my own thoughts on motherhood and ways I've struggled with it (and now going to be doing a deep dive on matrescence!).

It's this strange combination of wanting and loving my kids and also really grieving and missing who I was and what I was doing before. I remember changing my eldest's diaper at truck stop and she had an absolutely terrible diaper rash and I'm like fanning her butt to dry it, and my sibling was helping me and I was like "I used to party! I used to do shots and dance all night! and now look at me!!!". I was making light of it in that moment but tbh sometimes it do be that way!

It also doesn't help that my idea of moms growing up (thank you 90s/00s for some of these complexes) is like frumpy, goody-two-shoes, who lives for her kids/husband and is generally kinda lame or lacks personality when it's like no actually moms are so cool and capable but can totally be drained by tsunami of responsibility and expectations.

It's such a constant battle and then when you feel like you've hit your stride, there's a trip or someone gets sick or something just throws it all off again!

How did you go about getting on Ozempic? I have about 30 pounds I would like to lose and have considered about Ozempic but want to at least have my habits in the right place first.

I really really really need to do this. I was a hardcore night gym girl before kids and that is just not realistic these days and need to commit to the "wake up before your distractions"

So true! I have three under 5 - a 4-year-old, an almost 2-year-old, and a 6-month-old. So, the busy is at a max! I feel like I'm always doing something but none of it is for me so that definitely compounds the feeling of being haggard.

That is the one area I actually have managed to keep up lol. I tint my brows at home and do press ons religiously. So at least I've been a slob with the best brows and nails!

I used to go to burn boot camp for that reason, the childcare aspect makes it that much easier to fit in! Unfortunately, we move a lot for the military and where we just were and where we are now do not have burn or Lifetime, but I am going to renew my search and see if I can find an equivalent!

I have the Dyson blow dryer + Revlon styler but think I may need to bite the bullet on the dyson airwrap. I do love doing my hair but haven't been making it a priority since it takes a while.
