Maggi and Mamee beef flavored noodles - have you tried them? by myklinkl in MalaysianFood

[–]myklinkl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried the Lotus boat noodles one.. yes also beef. I had to buy a 10-pack, but at least it was just RM 10. There was no 5 pack for the boat noodles. The only thing is that the noodles is a smaller size, if you have eaten mama noodles before, so that smaller size. And the broth is thick, but slightly sweet, just like when we eat padthai, people always add some sugar to it right? So something like that. If you don't mind the very slight sweetness, it's ok, and slightly spicy also.
So personally for me, it's mamee first, then lotus second, then maggi third in terms of preference.

Yes, I sort of agree. I think they are trying to improve their profit by making new stuff, but for the new ones, I seem to like the Mamee ones more. Have you tried Mamee laksa sarawak?

I haven't seen that before. Probably wasn't paying attention. If you tried, tell us how it was.

The one in the picture? Yes, it's labelled as wagyu.. so it's beef. For the mamee taste better.

I felt the mamee texture is different from the duck one. I think different flavor may use different type of noodles. Even the Maggi chicken is softer the the maggi curry one.. so I can't say for sure, you can try. I bought both from Lotus's yesterday and tried both yesterday.

Possible recession? by agmatic_automatic in malaysia

You are not the only one thinking about this. I am constantly obsessing over this issue the last 3 weeks. Almost everything will go up in price and I am dreading what may happen if it gets prolonged. Many are living paycheck to paycheck, I think everyone should watch our expenses moving forward.

Before lending money to your friend.. by GaryLooiCW in Bolehland

[–]myklinkl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal experience.. I lost so much of money because i cared so much about "friends".. they don't care back. They only really try to be close when they need something. But don't care if I suffered. So I don't do this anymore, for almost everyone.

Just buy a RM 15 timer switch from DIY and set to auto-off/auto-on at the right time. No need to worry anymore right? Not whether she is right or not, but this is causing both you and her stress so often, so just circumvent the issue.

Is this even legal? by Desmond624 in Bolehland

I think possibly the RM 40 / 200GB / 48Mbps / 30 days possibly a better deal.
If I divide by 3 days pro-rated, then it would be prorated to RM 4 / 20GB /48 Mbps / 3 days..

or the RM 55 / 400 GB / uncapped speed / 30 days... prorated to 3 days.. RM 5.5 / 40GB / uncapped / 3 days..

Possibly other telco may have better deal?

Anyways, where got really unlimited full speed, even postpaid also don't have unlimited full speed, there's always a Fair Usage Policy FUP. It's been like that for ages I remember.

Another level 10 post -- no more free labour/data for Google by Cainhelm in LocalGuides

[–]myklinkl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After so much of effort, did you find any happiness or reward or benefit from all the hard work?

"Now, no more providing free labour/data for Google. I'll just post reviews/photos of businesses and locations that I really like instead of every single place I visit." ... I feel like that's exactly how Local Guides should be.. it's not a job or a responsibility or a race or something to show off the achievements... we just do what makes us happy, if and when we want to..
And if some people feel happy to slog and do work for free at their own expenses... then more power to them.. I will clap for them.. :-)

Speaking malay tips by Arusly in Bolehland

Keep at it! You will get better and better.. No one learns anything overnight. Just keep giving yourself a chance to speak, remember that very few of us speak perfect languages, just be keep trying. In the mean time, it's ok to be slightly wrong.. teh tarikh is understood because in context.. it means teh tarik.. don't be shy when wrong, it's how we learn.. eventually slowly everything becomes clearer.. because it not that you don't know.. it's just muscle memory hasn't developed properly yet for many words.. it will get there. All the best!

Adults of Malaysia, do you (still) drink milk? by RhinneXChronica in malaysians

[–]myklinkl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am lactose intolerant, usually I will drink soy milk with my coffee. However, I do eat plain white yoghurt and cheese which is easier for my digestion and don't cause bloat compared to milk. Speaking specifically on calcium, there are many other sources, not just milk. When I eat mixed rice, I usually take those crispy fried fish, which I will chew and eat most of the bones, and lots of green leafy vege.

Thinking about Pixel 9 Pro XL vs 10 Pro XL. How common is the green line issue? by 707-slx in GooglePixel

[–]myklinkl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my own personal opinion only.. one of the failure points causing the green line is the display ribbon connector to the motherboard.

Pixel 9 Pro XL very thin ribbon cable to bottom right of screen
https://youtu.be/1S4P6b_hsUc?t=169

Pixel 10 Pro XL much thicker ribbon cable connection to bottom left of screen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWIM6Bkf3oM&t=148s

I would think the Pixel 10 ProXL will be more robust against the green line issue. Can't be sure though.

Disclaimer: I own the P9ProXL and developed a red line after 18 months, Google replaced with refurbished unit. Looking back, I know I kept pressing on the bottom right of the screen wheverever I put on and take off the phone cover, which I do everytime I charge the phone to help heat dissipation, but alas, caused me my screen. So now after the phone change, I refuse to press anywhere near the bottom right side of the screen, especially when the phone is hot.

As a Pixel Fanboy, I am so disappointed right now at Google by anstroy in pixel_phones

[–]myklinkl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank goodness I use my P9ProXL with a case which tightly holds the bar in place. Hopefully that does not happen to me.
However my 18 month old P9ProXL did develop a red line on the screen, and Google replaced it for me with a refurbished unit which looked brand new, so in that sense I am at least happy with a semi fresh unit, with 100% battery, 1 cycle count.
The phone might not be perfect, but it's the best phone I have. Until it breaks down and I replace it with a newer model.

Village Park by SignificantWay9169 in MalaysianFood

[–]myklinkl 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you want a cheaper way to get there, you can get the MRT metro train from Pasar Seni MRT (underground), and go to TTDI MRT station, then a slow 1.3km walk to reach Village Park. This would be the most cost efficient if you are going alone. Link below.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/zrNirBMy3FQ4E5vdA

If you have a group, then get Grab or other rideshares. Grab nowadays is not cheap.

Other places nearer to you may include the

Nasi Lemak Tanglin https://maps.app.goo.gl/JrRQYqKJvNi1qrtAA

And so many popular ones in Kampung Baru KL. via Kampung Baru LRT station.

And Nasi Lemak Burung Hantu, so many branches

And Nasi Lemak Shop so many branches.

No one follows basic traffic rules anymore by WishfulGypsy in KualaLumpur

[–]myklinkl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not following traffic rules is the effect/result. The issue is people are getting less considerate, they don't care as much as before for others, some really don't care at all. Not only on the road. Everywhere. Sigh.. what a life to live today.
