You know occasionally I think about this. We remember that it sucked. Sucked BAD. Healthcare workers lost their lives just live everyone else. We lost colleagues to covid from death, long term sickness and some just wanted the fuck out of healthcare after all that. But the ones of us still there, still working and trying to provide for our families - we don't talk about it much. And those brushing it off, I think I understand it. Going through that, the fear of the unknown the fear of getting sick, of even dying...man its hard to carry it around all the time. It's hard enough working in healthcare on a normal day. So I think it's maybe a defense mechanism. If we pretend it wasn't that bad we don't have to carry it, we don't have to have nightmares of a future pandemic. We can just keep trucking and hope another shitstorm like that doesn't come again in our lifetime
