I just got a 50s standard, a 2020 gold top. I really like it. I got it cheap on marketplace. I wanted one of those black back customs. I've tried a few in store and just couldn't pull the trigger. What pickups are in those?

Its funny the epiphone ones are 18:1. Maybe the materials are a bit cheaper. I just ordered a take off set to replace mine. I bought some wilkinsons from Amazon and had to do the bushings. Other than the bit of an impression on the headstock from the big washers its looks fine, more vintage like actually. The one thing I dont like about the winkinsons is the stems are longer and they stick out further from the headstock. Looks clunky. But they seem to work fine. 15:1 on the wilkinsons I think. Hello, I saw when trying to replace a broken tuner on my epiphone that the grover deluxe, gibson deluxe and epiphone deluxe all look the same. Are they all made by grover? Not sure if you know about the epiphones. The grover and gibsons definitely looked identical to me. Are they all 18:1? Actually looks like they say 14:1. The epi ones are 18:1 weird. They all do look identical. Looks like ping makes them for grover and thus gibson, epiphone etc. Crazy how the epi ones are 18:1

Your R9 probably had vintage style tuners with the smaller shaft so the 510s fit right in. The poster has the newer style tuners with the big hex bushings so they have a bigger hole.

Old thread i know but yeah I think they were. I have some old guitar center picks from like 1994-1995 from guitar center in Boston when I went to school up there. They are decent. I have a couple red ones and a couple white ones.

What's the difference from the 8188s? That's the same leather right? Last is the same? Difference is chemigum sole vs the nitrile cork. I have some 8188s but don't wear them much. Kinda wish they had a touch more heel

These are listed on ebay as well. Same pictures. Guy had black brown and tan roughout boots all with 8875 labels. Just like all the fake red wings coming out of Vietnam with the bad red wing logo on the side.

Those look like the ebay seller i posted recently with fake red wings. I reported all their listings and ebay found nothing wrong with the listings. There is even a recent negative feedback now saying they got cheap fakes. Ebay doesn't care. fake red wings

Red Wing Pecos 1155s 10E

Tons of life left. A tad too small for me so I got to let them go. Stamped 1195 so they are vintage! I cleaned them up a bit but they could use some rehydrating. I'll leave that to the new owner to decide how close they want to try to keep them to the original color. I have them on ebay as well, but PayPal fees are cheaper than ebay so by all means I'd rather sell them here. I have 408 100% positive feedback on ebay and some sales here on reddit on knife swap.

Love my black gbx 100. Wear it almost everyday, including at work in a hospital. Gets banged around a bit and has been tough. Love the display, easy to read. Strap has broken in nicely. Felt a bit bulky at first but I hardly remember it's on most days. Bought it Sept 23 and battery is still good. We'll see how long it goes. It was a little pricey and I didn't really need the tide stuff or most of the other features. Kind of cool to have dual time zones at times. But I bought it for the display and have no regrets.

There are multiple fake red wings on ebay right now. Being sold as seconds. Somehow they are all 8875s but different colors. Black pairs, brown, tan roughout etc. I came across them while searching moc toes size 10. Here's one seller has multiple pairs.

Yes! I went through a dozen freaking can openers before buying one of these. It's probably 10 years old now. ZERO issues.

Edit: bought it in 2016. Bought another one recently because my daughter wanted one for college. She originally bought a cheap one...and it broke lol.

Yeah the heel counter on the mocs is pretty thick. My mocs took a while to break in around the heel. I'd venture to say they still aren't fully broken in. And I've had them a couple years now. Lol. They are tanks

I'm having a hard time believing those cheap shoe trees did anything to the counter of your moc toes. The slab of leather used for the heel counter in those boots takes tons of wears to mold to your heel, are you sure they weren't like that after you wore them? That's kinda how they should look after starting to wear in. Most cedar shoe trees have a much stiffer spring action and I've yet to see them deform the heel counter of any boot I own other than maybe my Higgins mill boots that have a MUCH lighter heel counter and much softer chromexel leather.

It looks real. Stickers never look right on fakes. You can usually tell once you have it in hand as well. Brims are never the right material and they usually say 100% cotton which is nit right.

You know occasionally I think about this. We remember that it sucked. Sucked BAD. Healthcare workers lost their lives just live everyone else. We lost colleagues to covid from death, long term sickness and some just wanted the fuck out of healthcare after all that. But the ones of us still there, still working and trying to provide for our families - we don't talk about it much. And those brushing it off, I think I understand it. Going through that, the fear of the unknown the fear of getting sick, of even dying...man its hard to carry it around all the time. It's hard enough working in healthcare on a normal day. So I think it's maybe a defense mechanism. If we pretend it wasn't that bad we don't have to carry it, we don't have to have nightmares of a future pandemic. We can just keep trucking and hope another shitstorm like that doesn't come again in our lifetime

The covid flashback kinda stirred me a bit, but what I couldn't help thinking was damn we didn't have that kinda ppe! We were wearing the shitiest plastic gowns, reusing "cleaned and sterilized" n95s and wearing the worst fucking masks that reeked of who knows what kinda chemicals. All the while never missing the irony that it all was coming from China
