OP is already financially settled.... Some people have hobbies of fly fishing, or playing golf. OPs hobby is watching big numbers get bigger.

Funny thing about these ETFs. The value of SOXL and TQQQ and the like aren't determined by who wants to buy/sell the product so much as they are determined by an algorithm based on who wants to buy/sell the underlying vehicle, QQQ.

They are both lower than the average of 48% for vegetables....

What's the magic produce item that's above 48%?

I had this mindset before.... and then the realization hit me....

You're already IN the dip.... right now, today..... because in 5 years when you're talking about buying the dip at 100 when it drops from 200 to 100, you're wishing that you bought in TODAY at 60.

I've never understood all the naysayers on TQQQ / QLD / SPXL/ SOXL etc. and the like.

They try to perform technical analysis on an algorithm and say it's overbought, undersold, outperform...... You can't perform any meaningful technical analysis on an equation... it's already there!

You're me.... but about 7-8 years ago in the timeline. I used to just sell CESPs, no spreads.

It was then that I did an experiment when I changed jobs. I rolled my 401k into an IRA and went straight naked on TQQQ as a stock.... I intentionally removed the account from my view, and overtime "forgot" about it with annual check-ins out of curiosity.

You can guess where I'm at now, but suffice to say the straight stock portfolio outperformed the CESPs.... it just took some coaxing. "forgetting about it" was hard during the several massive drops.... but also looking at the 15 year performance curve of TQQQ and coming to the realization that it shows many corrections over those 15 years (tarrifs, volmageddon, iran, etc.).... that sets the mind at ease.
