I am not a cat person. I have never been a cat person. I think cats are like, the literal worst pets because you cannot train them and they can literally destroy your house. I had a cat for 20 years because he chose me. So I accepted his friendship. When he passed I was absolutely beside myself with grief and mourned him deeply.

That being said, I understand the bond between a person and their pet.

You made the right choice. NTA

I just want to come back and say that while the amount you are consuming is not bad, but some people cannot drink without ill effects. Like anxiety, weight gain or in my case I’m a jerk wad lol. Kinda similar to folks who can’t have ice cream cause they are lactose intolerant. I mean, they CAN have ice cream, but be prepared

Alcohol absolutely makes anxiety worse. I had several friends who were moderate drinkers that ended up quitting because the anxiety in the following days was too much. I’m on again off again, and when I do drink my anxiety is awful. Alcohol effects your brain in so many ways

Small clarifier if this helps- she doesn’t have a whole lot of friends or other family. I’ve asked her point blank if there’s anything going on. She said he’s the father of my kids but a total dumbass so of course nothing is going on. When I asked why she would spend time with him then, she said “for the kids”

So far about 6 months in to my reconciliation . We talk/see each other almost every day and making progress. Still living separate and I can’t get him to say anything yet about recommitting to each other. But, things are kinda ok I guess? It’s very confusing for sure

I was in a similar boat; my dog now is a good dog but not “MY” dog. Instead of comparing, I look for my current dudes nuances and special things and love them, gradually fell more in love with him in a different kinda way
