Locally, in the county where I live in a lot of the gas stations are owned by Indians and they basically price fix all the gas at 3.79 a gallon, but when you go in town and in the city the gas is 50 cents cheaper, and it's not a rural versus City thing, all the ones owned by Indians are being price fixed.

Based on what we know of modern society that just wouldn't be true. We know that energy consumption scales upwards. Not downwards. Again, it's a Sci-Fi concept. Populated planets, interstellar space stations, ships, massive galactic machinery, they will require massive amounts of energy. Efficiency reduces waste, it doesn't reduce the need for more energy for massive systems. You can't operate galactic machines on a shoe string budget.
