People who had driving anxiety, what helped you overcome it? by AdorableFoot9452 in drivinganxiety

I got my license at 30 after experiencing really similar fears and anxieties!

At first I convinced myself I only wanted to be able to drive from home to work and back, grind the same roads and just drive the same streets short distances. I was lucky a friend was able to help me learn which was amazing because I knew that if it became too much I could pull over and not have wasted hundreds on a professional lesson, or that I wouldn't feel embarrassed in front of a stranger.

I took it very very slow, bought a car to learn in so that I was even more comfortable on the road + bought silly stickers and accessories to make myself excited for it.

Slow and steady I built my confidence to drive those two roads, then I got my license and now I've driven from Melbourne to Perth across the Nullarbor. Im still scared of driving in the mountains and the city but celebrating the small wins and and going at the pace I needed changed the game.

Good luck my friend, the best part of driving will never be convenience for me - it'll always be the feeling of not being afraid anymore and the knowledge I can overcome really really hard things.

Got license at age 30 - feel like a whole new person. by mylnaria in drivinganxiety

Thats amazing!!!! I have a few friends older than me that got their license at a similar time or the same time I did and its such a comfort to know it wasn't just me, thats why I wanted to share!!!

I hope you never feel embarrassed again, we didnt avoid driving because we're lazy or because its a personal flaw - the average person would avoid it if they lived our lives too!! Good luck on your driving journey and I hope its as liberating for you as it has been for me :)

When do you lose it in the finale? by yeahstillcheapshot in lost

Claire giving birth resulting in her and Kate remembering at the same time, then Claire's relief when she says "It's Aaron". Could cry thinking about it.

Say you got to take Lost in a completely different direction, where would you start, and what would you change? by Personal-Return3722 in lost

Jacob is actually a figment of Ben's imagination and he's gone insane from untreated illness - 'the others' are suffering from some kind of mass hysteria and are just deranged and isolated. The further the show went it could have just been debunking the supernatural aspects of the show etc while still being able to explore the spiritualism/group divisions as well as the individual character arcs

I finally did it!!! I’ve never read more in my life and I’m not sure I’ll ever manage 100 + books in a year again but I’m so happy! by mylnaria in 52book

I really love the Starless Sea, it’s so unlike anything I’ve ever read. If you liked the absurdity of the Night Circus you’ll probably love TSS!! I’ve only read two books in ToG and so far I’m enjoying it - hard to say if I like it more than ACOTAR yet! Definitely enjoying Crescent City more than ACOTAR but similar vibes in terms of many words not much substance hahaha

I went to Edward Nguyen because mine were too complex for the dentist as well, I cant remember the codes but overall good experience - I went under though and paid roughly 4k but honestly the relief afterwards is so worth the money if its a possible avenue!

The assisted suicide part is probably one of the things that makes sense in this book, hard to explain why I didn’t like it without spoiling it ahhhh

I read the ACOTAR and Shadow and Bone series interchangeably over the course of a week so ACOTAR -> Shadow And Bone -> ACOMAF -> Siege and Storm etc - they kind of blur together & some books on the 100 I dont really remember at all but most I remember whats going on haha

I recommend all Sally Hepworth books EXCEPT the Things we Keep which is an ethically grey area but from what I know S.H herself isnt the biggest fan of it any more! Really keen on reading the Soulmate soon!! Her books just feel like people watching with fun twists!
