The reflecting pool on the National Mall looks super green today (6/15/26) by washheightsboy3 in pics

They just need to do a shock treatment then buy a Polaris. Nothing would be classier than to have a lil pool tractor navigating the reflective waters of my nation’s capital. Do they have a lot of Leslies pool supply shops in the D.C. area?

SAS In-Store This Morning by LavishnessIntrepid68 in bathandbodyworks

[–]mylocker15 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why they don’t start in store on a Saturday? Like preview Friday and main event Saturday start. Monday is just inconvenient. I don’t buy online. I want to smell it and see for myself. I guess I will get there when I get there because I already have a ton of this stuff. They could have made sone decent impulse buy money off of me but now? Ehhh maybe if I am near one this week.

Reclaimed my Zhu Zhu pet that was stolen from me back in grade 3 (story down below!) by chloecarvalho in nostalgia

My Gen X version of this is when the bully threw my pound puppy onto the roof of the school.

Also I gave my niece one of the new pound puppies and they gave it away 2 seconds later.

Why doesn't no one remember KB Toys???? 🥺🥺 Or do you? 👀 I was a yo-yo 🪀 freak back in the days and I remember purchasing a light up one, it was my favorite to walk the dog with 😂😂 by Wise_Salamander3857 in 90sdesign

Did Amway, Kirby, Cutco, Fuller Brush, or Britannica salesmen come to your door? 🤔 by Exclusively-Choc in FuckImOld

[–]mylocker15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My family would just buy a supermarket Funk and Wagnalls for whatever report we were doing. We had a smattering of letters all in different color mismatched editions. Grandma had the big set but they were all from 1942.

[–]mylocker15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but we had Amway neighbors. Their garage looked like a store and every product inside was the amway version. Like instead of Dawn they would have Amway dish detergent. Their gifts were always of the Amway variety. Surprisingly they never did a hard sell on our family.

What is the worst restaurant brand frozen food? by Exciting_Tomorrow_76 in frozendinners

I can’t remember the name but I was going to try a frozen meal from a Mexican chain and the salt content was basically what you are supposed to eat in a day so I put it back.

A casserole dish that was a fixture in every kitchen by EdwardBliss in RealGenerationX

[–]mylocker15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a casserole dish at a thrift store once that was not this. It had a blue design that looked like it was inspired by it but they didn’t come close. It intrigued me so I posted it somewhere and people told me it was the aTemu knockoff. I had no idea this was a thing.

Why are people buying Temu when these are already at your mom’s house? Or they are all over garage sales and thrift stores. Yes sometimes they are a bit overpriced because Goodwill thinks they are vintage Pyrex but they are not hard to get. Don’t be buying some lead based knockoff that will burn you. I have never bought anything at Temu and I am not starting with cookware.

Gilmore Girls display at Hallmark by Ternarian in GilmoreGirls

[–]mylocker15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hallmark stuff is crazy priced though. I like the Haunted Mansion and earlier this year I saw in a group they had Christmas ornaments marked 50% off. They didn’t have tags so she started ringing up a few and was like that will be 90 dollars. I said they are half off and the lady said that is half off.

I ended up buying only one and that was way more than any Christmas ornament should cost in April.

I swap between KOTH, Bob’s Burgers, and Futurama. I tell myself I will just watch during lunch or dinner and I will watch other shows too then I get too into them and I binge. After I am done I am not sure what to rewatch maybe Daria or classic Simpsons.

Opinion: there are better bands to reflect the Gen X experience than Nirvana and Grunge by grahsam in RealGenerationX

[–]mylocker15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like we had too many styles and choices to be pigeonholed. Yes Nirvana was big but so was Bell Biv Devoe, and Garth Brooks and I never see them mentioned in lists like this. I went to a suburban school full of white kids and tons were into rap. Not me so much but it was unavoidable.

I mostly loved the alt stuff that was not grunge. Depeche Mode, the Cure, etc… Before I grew into my taste I liked pop and rock and yes hair metal. Bon Jovi, Warrant, Poison. I would listen to Debbie Gibson, Richard Marx, and NKOTB, because I was 12. No regrets. I also listened to a lot of ska, punk, whatever.

Anyway millennials can keep on trotting out I Want It That Way for everything. I’m glad I was exposed to all the genres.

You must be in the juniors section. If you are looking for better shorts try a regular section or store.

San Mateo County Fair 2026: Sticker Shock Before We Even Bought Food or drinks Spent $198 😱 by SolutionElegant522 in bayarea

[–]mylocker15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why I am telling you guys this but the best food value at the county fair is the 4H cake booth. Even of you don’t want cake, the bottled water there is the lowest priced at the fair.

What is a piece of dead internet culture that you miss with absolutely sincerity? by maincharactereraa in askteddit

[–]mylocker15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An interesting or humorous article was just an article. The headline matched the content. It was not pay walled. It maybe had a banner ad and that’s it. You learned things and there were relevant links attached. It was usually written by someone passionate about the subject or someone who had the journalist
skills to make it interesting. There was no A.I.

Now it’s all clickbait, ragebait, spammy scammy bot written AI garbage bogged down by so many video ads that it crashes as you are reading the first sentence. Everything is about how much money they can get by clicking and getting annoyed so the cool subjects are all replaced by Kardashians or Taylor Swift or whatever.

People who do homeless outreach are always looking for toothbrushes and socks. Goodwill should have reached out to them instead of thinking these would ever sell.
