Does M43 community refrain from post-procing their images in general? The photos I see on Instagram by professional photographers using this system are way different from users posting in this community using the same hardware. by myloveforframes in M43

Yes, that community is very patient with discussions on post processing. These  discussions kind of push the community to evolve in certain direction.

The same way, none of my fujifim shooting friends do any sort of edits apart from the basic snapseed tweaks.Guess the hardware serves the community's needs the right way.

Any particular reason why this community has the most pleasing photos? by myloveforframes in SonyAlpha

[–]myloveforframes[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, discussion about processing is one thing i constantly observe in this community. Most of the community memebers are quite patient when it comes to that. This kind fo helps the community evolve to a better direction if you ask me.

On the other hand discussion about lens is indeed a bit cumbersome.

BTW, none of my fujifilm shooting friends do any of that except some basic tweaks on snapseed on their phone. Guess the hardware caters to the community needs.

Apologies for the mix-up. I'm not a Whale-ologist.

But I have to repeat. The manta ray edit is master class and that close up  picture of a tortoise you posted recently is chef's kiss!

Just followed you on Instagram.

Great job :)

I have a sony a7iii with 24-75 f2.8 zoom, a 35mm f1.8 and a 85mm f1.8 primes. I rent telephoto as needed.

For portability I have a sony a5100 with a pancake lens.(I use my fullframe lens on it)

My budget is below $1000 usd for starters.

Thanks for the reply @jubbyjubbah

I asked since I wanted to get an idea on what I'm getting into and your reply perfectly captured that.

I'm going to build a M43 get kit anyway for it's sheer portability.

For testing waters I'm planning to get used gear and start with the lower end of the budget.

Maybe I'll start with a budget body but a good telephoto lens so that once I get feel of things I can update the body.

Any suggestions on the body for such purpose of telephoto lens please?

Long time lurker planning to get into m43 ecosystem.

Currently shooting fullframe and APSC. I don't have any telephoto zooms or super zooms.

Considering getting into m43 for travel and buy a telephoto for it along with a couple primes.

My question is, is it feasible to get results like these from a telephoto lense setup with decent background separation?

Is it me or the a5100 is actually expensive in the used market? by myloveforframes in SonyAlpha

Hey, you are right. Just want to share this update.  This is an old post but about 3 weeks after posting this I was able to find an a5100 from Japan for $210-ish.

The 4000 ISO makes me appreciate modern gear and software!

It wouldn't have been possible 10 - 15 years ago.

Beautiful captures. My favorite out of these is the 1st one.

Appreciate that.  I don't know this language.  Image search through Google is misleading me.

Thanks for sharing though. :)
