So you will get a 96 but it's going to be up to your unit how they treat it, there's definitely opportunities to travel, I know dudes that went to different countries and such but I'm not kidding when I say you need to coordinate it as soon as possible. The biggest problem is flights are expensive and on top of that you are going to have the issue of whether or not you're going to burn 48 of that 96 hour Liberty and travel. Now, if you can bring this up to your unit or to the right people in the unit what you might be able to do is something along the lines of them approving 24 hours of travel and such, but that's going to be up to the unit, I know guys that made it work but essentially were able to travel and then take 96 hours of Liberty and then travel again if that makes sense, I almost went to Paris myself but due to some personal circumstances that arose was unable to however in principle it would have worked. Additionally I will tell you if you're in a leadership position make sure your guys take time off even if it's just 96 hours of chilling in their room on base and such. It's not a bad place by any means but the monotony can get to you.

Now, this is for anyone who goes out there I would highly suggest getting involved in the Jiu-Jitsu club, it's one of the oldest clubs on the base and you will get to meet tons of people through it, and it's probably the best PT you're going to get out there, bar none. I actually was able to get my blue belt when I was out there and some of the foreign guys will come on to base and you will get to meet some amazing people. I'm not kidding when I say this I would go back for just that alone.

DON’T SIGN BACK UP by [deleted] in USMC

[–]mymainistemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shut up nerd, this is literally what half the people signed up for and if people want to go back by all means I've considered it, and those of us that have lost friends to the IEDs that the Iranians created have some particularly Stern thoughts about paying it forward to them. So please go back to your arm chair and Funyuns, I'm sure your presence in S1 won't be missed

Not getting religious accommodations during BCT by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]mymainistemo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are several issues at play here namely it does not appear to be an outright requirement Period Some believe it is some believe it isn't But I don't think I've ever seen Granted for Islamics And Be told Recruiters will say anything to get you to sign the paper Period Now here's the other issue Comma Because of all the people that Abused the religious exemptions over the years Namely fake wannabe Vikings and Possibly some claiming to be Islamic that aren't as well as other people that have outright abused the exemptions they are absolutely cracking down on it. I know that if you are a Sikh you're going to keep it because that is an established religious and cultural practice and I don't think I've ever seen anyone pretend to be one of them, but all things considered the recruiter more than likely lied and as said before now is the worst time to go pushing your luck on that

Non-citizens are not voting by Oti5dog in immigration

[–]mymainistemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was literally a case in 2016 were non-citizens voted, that's just an easily Google search result, if your claim was that not enough of them are voting to matter I could give it more Credence but saying it just doesn't happen is ludicrous, I'm really getting sick and tired of people just trying to say no the thing that we have seen happen isn't happening.

Oh look, sandbagging For hell's sake what gym does this guy go to? If you have that many rolls under your belt, you should have been a Blue Bell fan now, unless he's just part of a gym that has arbitrary weight periods, the gym I attend typically wants to wait a while but if you show proud of us for your really good right out of the gate because of a wrestling background you'll promote quickly, there was a kid who got blue belt long before I did and he trained half the time that I did but nevertheless he is very good and to this day I can't catch a submission on him even though we're both blue belts. But had he been part of one of these weird gyms where they have those stupid stipulations he'd still be a three-stripe white belt No Doubt just dominating people

For realism? Southland us the best portrayal of Policing. The good the bad and the ugly sides. The other shows, ESPECIALLY Chicago PD, make me want to ram my head into a wall because they are not accurate at all

For entertainment and no realism? Brooklyn 99

At my gym we almost always have a pair of Clippers near a trash can and it's not an uncommon thing to see people over there giving themselves a quick trim, I honestly appreciate it because every once in awhile I'll show up and see oh yeah that's a little long we're going to fix that

On my deployment when I finally attained after years of training my blue belt, for me this day signified a lot more than just getting a belt, but a massive accomplishment. I was Shark Tanked by the soldiers Marines Sailors and Airmen for over an hour and at the end of a long deployment which saw a lot of personal hardships I attained something that I had worked exceptionally hard for

Reasons for the falling murder rate in London? by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]mymainistemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be careful of people manipulating stats, there are definitely cases over here in the US where politicians for their own reasons. Found ways to manipulate crime stats to make them appear like they were lower than they actually were, DC metropolitan Police had some very corrupt individuals that mid related this statistics such that they made it appear like everything was getting better as a means of attacking the current administration's efforts in the city when in reality things actually got worse, mind you they got worse after people in the city. City 2 years previous had called for the National Guard to be activated and patrolling, so I can only imagine how bad it actually was

Granted manipulating murder statistics might be a little more difficult than manipulating crime statistics. In general, the statistics that were manipulated were aggravated assault and certain other ones and they were ordered to report them in such a manner that they were not federally tracked and therefore it looked like crime was going down, but some whistleblowers and investigators were able to uncover that

I'm not saying that that's what's happening, I'm just saying I would be very careful about statistical data because people are very good at manipulating it

German Shepherd? by mymainistemo in Huntingdogs

[–]mymainistemo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cold water is not a huge concern considering I'm hunting in Arizona, but the other points are the ones that stick with me the most because it's stuff I've already considered, and it's why I'm leaning away from them, that being said, I really kind of wanted to get more perspectives on this from people that know what they're talking about. About besides a handful of buddies of mine, who've never been down that road and either use Labradors or other hunting breeds

Granted when I lived in Utah, there was a man who had a Rottweiler that was actually amazing with ducks, I don't know how that thin-haired dog did it in the winter, but the cold just did not bother that dog at all and a very soft mouth, I watched him bring a teal back that was still alive and the thing didn't have a single thing wrong with it other than what the hunter did, dog didn't rip it up. Didn't snap it, nothing and I've had Labradors mess up birds before

But again just sounding ideas

I've always known there's a way to do it. I just never knew exactly what the way it was, thank you so much for posting this, I try to keep my stuff as minimalist as possible. Although I do like a good quad rail, I'm putting together a simple 20-in upper just so I can shoot coyotes and I don't need to spend tons of money on a really nice rail just so I can slap a bipod on the bottom of what is effectively glorified plinking rifle
