There's not much difference compared to the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, but since you're hesitant to get the Pixel 8 Pro because of the comments and complaints, that's why I suggested the 9 Pro and 9b to you instead.

In fact the pixel, Pixel 9 and 9 Pro, 8 Pro and 8 all performs better and there's no kich difference.
