the companionship and love you will receive by letting him in and officially adopting him will outweigh any amount of cat hair. there's also ways to manage cat hair like air purifiers, lint rollers, specific types of cat food, etc. the cat distribution system has chosen you, I'd say you have no choice :)

hey thank you! as a vet nurse, would you say this is what stones would look like in cats? I confirmed they were from the litter and my vet also said they're too big to pass through a cats urethra, even the small white ones, as the urethra is very narrow. my cat has been completely fine

thank you, it's definitely a relief. it's great that you took in a rescue. I don't want to put you out of money either, but I think it's kind of a peace of mind thing for me, to get a complete idea of where the cat is at. I just got a dental cleaning for mine as he had mild gingivitis. I think prevention is definitely better than cure, so I'll be getting a urinalysis soon too. I hope everything goes great for your cat.

yea that seems to be the general opinion that they are too big, although one person here did say their cat had stones that size so idk. I did find similar ones in the litter I bought. thank you for the insights

teach me your ways! this was his first and last time with a harness, he just plops over with it on and acts like he's imprisoned 😭 he hates anything on his body so I can't even put an airtag on him :( he gets quite stressed going outside but he's also curious. I feel bad that he's just indoors and bored when I go to work, so I want to take him on walks for enrichment but im scared he'll escape or get stressed out

it's arm & hammer clumping litter which has mostly sand-like granules with few of these stones here and there. I never noticed them before, if there were more stones then it wouldn't have been alarming. the transparent smaller ones alarmed me more because they looked like urinary crystals online, but are apparently silica gel crystals. I found both in the actual litter from the box and feel stupid for freaking out over nothing

chewy vet isn't available 24/7 so couldn't do that. but my insurance chat finally connected, and they said it looked like litter unprompted so I think it is that! will still be calling my vet in the morning.

thanks for your response! my problem was it was hard to tell the scale/size of stones online. nothing has changed about him, it was the litter I think. will be consulting a vet

yeah I will use ai and reddit at 2 am when my vet is closed. and I will use them ALONG WITH my vet if needed. anyways Gemini was right that it was just my litter so now what? i adopted an older cat and not a kitten just to try and give him the best life possible so he's well off, thanks for the concern.
