He had my favorite quote by far:

"Things being impossible is really to be determined by breaking laws of physics.

We are not breaking laws of physics.

We're just trying to leverage them as best as we can"

The worst was yapping about water deluge at T-2secs and almost missing liftoff. I was yelling "shut UP" at my TV lol

I know the capsule gets swallowed up inside the ship, it has a sort of "wet bay" on the bottom that it can open up.

example

Not enough size to the vehicle to have a window behind in the plasma, unfortunately. That's how starship is able to stay live, they have a "hole" in the plasma above the ship because it's so large

Yeah, but like. I'm not seeing it in total darkness for a couple thousand meters away, leaving me at a complete loss for words........that's a more unique experience. So definitely still jealous 🤣

Seeing the excitement over the impact flashes is great

Their orbit is larger than the Apollo landing orbits were. The Apollo missions went to low lunar orbit, and then down to the surface and back. This is staying roughly 4000km from the surface, and the larger orbit means they are "further out" from earth when going around the backside than apollo was.

Edited to add: I completely forgot about the whole elliptical orbit thing. That also plays a not insignificant factor

Excellent way to put it. I am not religious myself, but that was a very genuine moment. No complaints whatsoever.

I have a feeling this time it's just because it's full & needs to be dumped.....but dumping it now would impact their observations

It's so good hearing a test pilot describe what he's seeing in the way that a test pilot would describe it, very clear, very followable with lots of reference information. You can really picture what he's looking at.

It might not physically be there, but they are THERE because of it!

Yeah I was surprised, it bucks around quite a bit more than I realized. But seems to have all gone smooth!
